Just a Burger - Edit
Only one option of a vegan burger, and you have to pay extra for cheese. Fine if with non vegan company, but there are other places in Lyme Regis with a view of the water with just one option.

Not much on offer - Edit
I guess the menu must have changed, only seemed to have the usual v-burger on offer, so opted for an amended salad. Having said that, staff and the chef seemed willing and able to amend things to a non-diary option, so definitely a plus for that, but not as much options as I'd have thought from previous reviews.

Tasty food, not many options - Edit
The menu doesn't have the vegan options marked, however they are marked on the dairy -free menu if you ask for that. There was a pizza, pasta and burger available and we had one of each. Food was tasty and restaurant has a nice atmosphere.

Good range of vegan dishes - Edit
I had a delicious garlic pizza bread starter with plant based cheese and a nice tomatoey pasta dish with pine nuts.
Read moreA good variety of plant based options that were clearly marked on the menu including pizza, pasta, a burger, hot dog, salad etc. We sat outside on the upstairs decking which was lovely with good music. The inside looked nice as well.

Lovely 'cheesy' garlic bread and pizza! - Edit
I shared a delicious cheesy garlic bread here which was really tasty, and followed that up with a lovely pizza with vegan cheese, artichoke, onion, olives & capers. The dough was really nice and the toppings where great quality. We sat out on their roof floor and ate in the sun, was really nice!

Tasty food and dog friendly - Edit
Nice range of options on the menu; I opted for the baba ganoush sandwich on brown bread, which was very pleasant. If going back, wouldn't mind trying some of their vegan pizza options.

Amazing desert's - Edit
We ordered 2x vegan burgers and they were quite big and really tasty however our desert's were the star of the show. Our waiter told us 1 of the chef's is vegan and the food definitely reflects that. The vegan winter mess desert was absolutely gorgeous. We will be back!

My girlfriend and I had a lovely evening, food was great and staff were really friendly. Multiple vegan options including desert. Slightly on the pricey side, but was definitely worth it.

Great variety and clear menu - Edit
Really appreciated the many options and labelling on the menu. Gave a choice per category. I had the seitan pizza and got the plant based cheese which I thought was really cool! Also even just labelling starters like olives as definitely vegan was great.
Read moreOnly thing is I would like for them to label drinks as vegan or not especially cocktails as I had to try to look them up with no signal
Pros: Great variety , Good labelling, Really tasty

Room for improvement - Edit
We ordered the vegan patty and ‘chicken’ burger which were ok - had some vegan ‘cheese’ on one but had run out of vegan ‘bacon’. 2 of the 3 burgers arrived and when the 3rd came we noticed the difference in the fries. The first 2 burgers had come with what seemed to be re-fried chips which left us feeling like we were getting leftovers. I appreciate that they weren’t wasting food but perhaps there needs to be a rethink where the customers chooses how they want their fries??
Read morePros: Good service, Nice atmosphere, A few vegan options
Cons: Price for vegan option same as non-vegan option, No salad or vegetables to compliment burgers

A hidden gem - Edit
Fantastic place, went here after reading others reviews and wasn't disappointed. My partner had the moving mountains burger and fries, she said it was delicious. I had the seitan kebab with fries, the portion was big and tasted fantastic. Highly recommended!

Good food - Edit
A lovely restaurant, with very attentive staff. They've taken Covid precautions seriously, but it doesn't impact on the experience as everyone is calm and friendly and they guide you through all processes.
Read moreThe garlic bread with vegan cheese was very yummy. They did half and half with the cheese for our family to share.
I had a seitan kebab which was delicious - though I would have preferred a greater portion of the tasty salad and fewer chips.
Teenage daughter had the plant burger, which she said was nice but wasn't keen on the relish (probably personal taste).
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Nice atmosphere
Cons: Expensive for a family dinner

Great vegan choice - Edit
The vegan chef, John, has almost complete say over the vegan parts of the menu. He creates delicious dishes from scratch and buys in top quality products as well. They have Moving Mountain burgers which are absolutely amazing, all their pizzas can be ordered with vegan cheese and the chocolate brownies... meat eaters never ask, but they are all vegan and delicious.

Fantastic Vegan Sunday Roast - Edit
A Sunday morning stroll with the dog and then into the Pilot for lunch. This was one of the best mixed restaurants I have been in for a vegan meal. There were two options for mains on the menu but as it was Sunday I went for the Sunday roast. A mushroom and lentil roast with roast potatoes and quality veg. For desert we went for the crumble and the brownie. A very nice soya late to finish. The staff were very attentive I would thoroughly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

You could feed this to your mum! - Edit
If all vegan food tasted this good, people would have no problem making the switch! I’ve been vegan for 27 years and this pub served some of the best food I’ve eaten. The food was SO tasty, not fancy, just really well done. We had the mushroom tagliatelle, the sweet potato curry and the vegan cheese toasties and all were superb. Two vegan dessert options too, even with vegan cream. The place is very nice too - a large contemporary space with modern decor.

Surprisingly good vegan options - Edit
The pilot boat has a lot more seating area than what you expect from the outside. It includes a sunny roof top terrace. They have a large bar and trendy interior.
Read moreThe vegan options were clearly indicated on the menu and offered some suprising meals compared to the common falafel. We had a roasted beet salad as appetizer and the no fish cakes and a mushroom stew. The dishes are nicely presented and were okay. Using some special ingredients (like fried capers?) but not bursting with flavor.
Service was fast and punctual.
Pros: Very close to Lyme Regis beach, original vegan options, trendy interior
