I turned up without a reservationand they were able to find a table for me despite the place being pretty full, it's probably worth booking if you can.

Read moreI started with the sweetcorn and chicken soup which was okay but nothing exciting. I had a last minute change of heart after seeing the char sui on the menu and added the fried mushroom rice. The rice was supposed to have scrambled tofu in it and for a fiver it should have, it didn’t. It was also a little oily.
My main came with steamed broccoli which unfortunately was cold. The char sui had too much five spice for me and it overwhelmed any other flavour. It was also not anything like char sui.
I finished all my food so it decent, maybe my expectations were to high, I would definitely try it again.

We’d never been to a fully vegan Chinese restaurant before, it was enjoyable to choose freely on the menu. Normally I don’t go for substitute meats but this time tried pork cha sui, the flavor was tasty and close to what you’d expect from the meat version. Tofu and vegetable dishes were lovely, noodles slightly heavy on the soya sauce for my liking. Overall a delicious meal, pleasant environment, quick friendly service, convenient location.

The food here is amazing, I’ve only been twice and need to come again! Crispy ‘beef’ was amazing when they still had it on the menu (unsure about now), but everything I’ve tried has been delicious! Would recommend visiting during York Restaurant Week if they participate again, they had a full set menu for an amazing price.

i wish i lived in york to eat here all the time. The service was so fast and the food was one of the most delicious vegan experiences I’ve ever had. The vegan king prawn in sweet and sour was the standout for me, the special fried rice was my partners favourite. I could not fault anything i tried at all. I 100% recommend this place if you are vegan or no. The workers were very kind too and gave me a little free pudding with a candle in it as it was my birthday

Perfect both for a sit-down meal as well as for a takeaway. The staff are lovely, and the interior is really nice. Big proper Yorkshire portions that actually fill you up. Definitely recommend the salt pepper shrimp and the beef. Loved by vegans and non vegans.
