Lovely food and location - Edit
Couple of vegan options on the Sunday menu. We went with the nut roast. Very tasty! Service was good and food didn’t take long to arrive. Advise booking in advance. Very busy, but didn’t feel overwhelming- was relaxed and comfortable pub with good views of the common outside.

Love it here! - Edit
There aren’t usually loads of vegan options on the menu, but the ones they have are always fantastic!
Read moreIf you go in the summer months, you can eat out in the garden overlooking the common which is lovely.
I always leave here feeling satisfied.

Good vegan options - Edit
The vegan mezze was tasty and something to share with everyone on the table (including non-vegans). The mains were interesting (we had both the Harissa Cauliflower and Sweet potato, butter bean and spinach curry). Having more than one vegan option available which is always appreciated. Lovely pub in a beautiful location.

Delicious and pleasant - Edit
Two clearly labeled vegan options on menu- sweet potato curry was delicious and so was the Mediterranean platter we shared for starters. Pleasant garden in the middle of a wide walking area and several indoor rooms, partly in the historic building.

Vegan roast - Edit
Ate there solo and the staff were great and welcoming. Really enjoyed the vegan roast, really big portion. They had a couple of options for Sunday lunch.

Great dinner with friends - Edit
* update! I went back last night on a date and the food was much less impressive than the last time. Very bland burger for the bloke and some semi-croquettes over a very uninspiring salad. I used to rate this place 4 but now I’ve reduced it to 3. Still good prompt friendly staff and service though.
Read moreI researched this place and I noticed they have loads and loads of vegan options. We shared everything and honestly everything was delicious. Only my mum wasn’t vegan and her main (fish and chips) was the only disappointment. Every vegan choice was absolutely delicious. Plus massive portions! A lot of thought went into making something new and interesting. Props to the chef. I will return promptly.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Very friendly staff, Lovely ambience - easy to hear!

Nice platter after a long walk - Edit
Nice pub with lots of parking and space inside.
Read moreVegan platter was really nice, and was the reason we walked to this pub specifically (despite the weather!) after finding it on the menu online.
Apparently there's a sister pub, also in the area, but we didn't visit that one. Both serve local brewery beers.
Pros: Plenty of parking
