Okay but I was a bit disappointed - Edit
I ordered some vg tacos for £12 and had to wait 15 minutes for them (although it was Saturday lunchtime)
Read moreWhen they came it was three store bought wraps with lettuce and refried beans and unseasoned salad on the side. The beans tasted nice but I was shocked by how incredibly overpriced it was for what I received. My friend had avocado on toast and enjoyed hers more than I did.
Pros: Nice coffee and cake, Lovely atmosphere and decorated beautifully, Lots of vegan and gf options
Cons: Way too expensive , Food was underwhelming, Service slow

Had a coffee and mixed vegan bowl here which was yummy. It’s vegetarian but does have good vegan options. Wish they had some takeaway vegan options tho like sandwiches

Vegetarian & Vegan Cafe - Edit
We had the lahmacun (very good) and chickpea chaat (good portion but very spicy. Be warned!). As others have said a bit pricey but nice as a treat. The oat flat whites were lovely and we had a piece of baklava to finish. Shame there's no vegan cake option as we definitely would have had that. Menu seems to change with the seasons.

That’s what i’m chaattin - Edit
Great lunch here, two fantastic meals. We had the carrot lox and the chickpea chaat. Both lovely and fresh. Also had vegan chocolate fudge brownie and great coffee. Marketed as a veggie cafe but it is nearly all vegan. Not cheap but worth it. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely food and coffee - Edit
The carrot lox and cashew cream cheese on toasted muffins (x2) were delicious. Be warned that its pricey: with two oat lattes (good) that all came to £30.

Great lunch spot - Edit
We stopped here for lunch on market day. I had a lemongrass and mushroom soup and my partner had the tagine. Both were delicious and reasonably priced. Would definitely return in future.

Great quality, tasty vegan options in lovely setting - Edit
We enjoyed a lovely lunch here on Christmas Eve. All the options are vegan or vegetarian and the staff friendly and helpful. I love finding vegan options a bit different from those you may get in a lot of high street venues. They explained how most people order from the menu (a main with sides to share) and it felt like time, thought and care had gone into the options. Everything was really tasty and the decor is lovely as is the shop it is located in(beautiful books and gifts). There are loads of interesting drink options and several delicious looking cakes, which we didn't try this time. The menu is different from the photos on Happy Cow (and better imo), maybe there is a different chef or owner. The decor felt lighter than the photos suggest too. The cafe area is quite small, but we still found a table on this busy day of the year. We will definitely return when we are next in the area. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Excellent coffee and vegan cake - Edit
Good selection of a few vegan cake options and all the plant milks for coffee (soya, oat, coconut, almond). Flat white was very decent.

Lack of food and seating - Edit
Lunch is only served for 3 hours and there are only 3 options - one of which is a salad. The signature dish which is a £9 buddha bowl was sold out and nothing else seemed appealing. How difficult is it to keep 3 menu options stocked for a few hours of trade? They had even sold out of a side order dip of hummus. Tried a vegan cake instead which was meant to be lemon & courgette but didn’t have any hint of lemon flavour and just tasted weird. To top it off the indoor seating is now gone leaving three tables (all were occupied) on the narrow pavement outside. Had high hopes but left disappointed, there’s hardly any choice for vegan food in this area and travelled some distance to try lunch here. Waste of time.

Good Food, Small Portions, Great Brownie - Edit
Had a Buddha bowl, a vegan brownie and a soy flat white. The bowl was delicious but the portion was quite modest, particularly for the slightly elevated price. Brownie was delicious, highly recommend. Coffee was good (at least certainly better than a Starbucks or Costa’s). Decor was cool and eclectic. Couple of authentic looking hippies in here which I approved of. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was clearly marked vegan (not sure what the issue was with the previous review). Would recommend.

Bit dissappointed - Edit
I was really looking forward to the Old Electric Shop, we detoured home via Hay-on-Wye especially. Unfortunately, the staff seemed unsure which items on the menu were vegan and gluten free, and I ended up with only one option (the salad) which, although very tasty, was not at all filling. I ended up heading to the local deli and getting a pot of antipasti to fill me up after. Not what you want at the prices they are charging!
Read moreMy partner had a nice flapjack but sadly there were no sweet options I could eat.

Quirky cafe within a vintage shop - Edit
Friendly service. Lovely environment to sit; lots of mismatching furniture, textiles and trinkets to look at.
Read moreCoconut, almond and soy milks available for drinks and a good selection of loose leaf teas. There were at least 6 homemade cakes/muffins/biscuits (apparently they always have at least one vegan option). Hummus and veg filled roll and Buddha bowl on the menu board were labelled vegan, but I had to ask about the cakes.
I tried the vegan banana brownie and it was extremely moist and delicious!
Pros: several vegan options available, lovely environment
Cons: not all vegan options (cakes) labelled
