Vegan Biscoff cheesecake - Edit
Stopped here for the Biscoff cheesecake. So good, bit expensive.
Read moreBetter to sit outside if possible. Inside you're surrounded by creepy taxidermy and photo's of creeps holding a fish. Also there's a weird smell.

Good options in small town - Edit
They had a good number if vegan options being such a small town - pakora starter, curry, pizza, burger or salad main and biscoff cheesecake or chocolate torte dessert.

Only off putting things was the amount of creepy taxidermy all around.

Just ok - Edit
I had a salad as I wanted something light and healthy, menu has some vegan options marked, and some but not all staff were helpful. I wasn’t offered a vegan ‘extra topping’ for my salad, and had to ask twice for vegan dressing. Some staff were really friendly and helpful, others not. Nice that it’s dog friendly, has a busy but warm feel, nice big log fire going. Visited in February 2023.

Great option to stay and eat - Edit
I stayed here so had breakfast and evening meals (due to there not being loads of other vegan options in the area).
Read moreThere were vegan options of: pakora (starter), salad, pizza, thai burger (not spicy), and curry. I had the latter three plus biscoff cheesecake and chocolate torte and all were delicious. The sausage pizza, especially, seemed to have thought put into it.
Bear in mind that there seemed to be fewer vegan options when we ordered through the app when eating outside on the picnic benches with friends.
I'd let the hotel know I was vegan before arriving and they offered a selection of vegan milk, plus spread, sausages and hash browns to go with the cereal, toast, fruit juice, and cooked tomatoes, beans, and mushrooms on offer. A decent offering.
Staff were friendly.

Lovely place to stay, and nice range of vegan foods - Edit
My wife and I just stayed here for 3 nights, staying in one of the superior pods.
Read moreThe accommodation was really lovely, well set up, clean and comfortable.
But what you're here for is the all important food.
During our stay we had breakfast included so ate here each morning.
The breakfast is a buffet style setup which includes bread/toast, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms and a variety of cereals (plus other non-vegan options).
If you let them know you're vegan, they'll also bring non-dairy milk, vegan spread, vegan sausages and hash browns to your table.
For dinner there were a number of options, but I had their pizza which includes vegan sausage bits, garlic sauce, onion etc and was really tasty. I also had their vegan burger which consistency wise was more like a traditional veggie burger but it came with a great salad, chips and sauce. There was also a curry which my wife went for which I tried and was great but I dove back in for another pizza.
Pros: Range of vegan options , Vegan extras for breakfast , Friendly staff

Tasty treats in small town - Edit
Enjoyed dinner one evening, then back for lunch and dessert next day. Loved the ‘You Won’t Re-Greta’ pizza, and staff were happy to remove items that I don’t like.
Read moreLovely tomato & basil soup of the day for lunch. Disappointed they were unable to swap out mozza for vegan alternative on one of the ciabattas, to go from vegetarian to vegan, but did have another vegan ciabatta on the menu.
Biscoff cheesecake was a winner, with ‘skooshy’ cream and biscoff sauce!
Pros: Decent range of vegan options, Friendly staff, Lovely to sit outside when the weather is nice
Cons: A bit expensive

Friendly staff and vegan options made with love - Edit
It's really clear that whoever created the menu wanted the vegan options to be good! I had the You-wont-re-Greta-this pizza which had red pesto, sausage and garlic mayo. They even gave me an extra pot of mayo on the side. Staff were very friendly and we felt comfortable by the open fire! The only downside for a vegan would be the decor which is heavily influenced by hunting traditions in the Highlands.

Wonderful - Edit
A recent holiday of ours was a road trip in a rented campervan, we were looking for somewhere to go for a meal and I found this spot with a quick google and surprised to find it had vegan options!! Just what we wanted, they offered a pizza or curry! Curry unfortunately sold out but delicious pizza. Wonderful atmosphere, beautifully decorated and fantastic service 😀

Excellent pizza, great location - Edit
Had passed this place a few times on hikes in Balmaha and was surprised to find it has vegan options on the menu.
Read moreThe vegan sausage and pesto "No Re-Greta" pizza and vegetable bajis were very nice, though the chickpea curry was very spicy. If spice isn't your thing I'd recommend asking for no/less chilis.
No other food places nearby and the scenery was great so this was a nice place to stop.
