Why can’t the whole world be like this? - Edit
Well, what a watering hole, a vegan pub, with beer, gurt lush! We arrived in the afternoon (to date main meals are only served until 3pm) and had tea, coffee and cakes. I say cakes, but it’s so much more than that, a real range to choose from, and each is an artwork in its own right, obviously made with love and care. Simply fantastic. Hopefully will visit again within the next few days and try a main, looking forward to that.

Great venue and menu. - Edit
We’d been travelling all day and still had more to do, stopping off at various vegan eateries so I’m sorry to say we could eat much (I so wanted the aubergines, next time). Had the chunky chips which were the fluffiest I’ve ever had. I also had the green juice and B had the turmeric chai. Loved the venue and would visit again to try more of the food.

Great location in Bridlington old town a real hidden gem. Lovely Vegan selection of main meals and cakes. We were a party of 4 vegans two adults and teens and enjoyed 3 different meals then cake. All delicious. Idea for everyone. I thought the prices where very reasonable and happy to support an independent business serving vegan food with a smile.

Amazing vegan food! - Edit
One of the best vegan meals we've ever had! We had a pasta dish and waffles, both were so delicious and different to your usual vegan food. The flavours were clearly thought about and worked so well together. The place itself was cosy and staff welcoming. Just wish we lived closer!

Walking past this otherwise drab building from the outside, you would never expect the vibrant atmosphere and decoration that can be found inside.
Read moreWe discovered this place when searching for a vegan friendly restaurant in Bridlington, which I have so say is not an easy task. Very pleased that we gave it a try as this will definitely be the place to go on future trips to the seaside town.
Food all arrived together and tasted as good as it looked, and sounded on the menu! Feeling satisfied with our brunch, we couldn’t resist getting some homemade sweet treats for the road home.
Would definitely recommend to anyone, regardless of whether you’re after a small snack or a large lunch.
Pros: Atmosphere, Food presentation, Variety of vegan options

This place was recommended - and didn’t disappoint! - Edit
After reading one of my blog post vegan reviews someone suggested we try the Nut and Nettle so we did. We had a ride over to Brid, parked up and walked through the town. As we turned into the High Street it was like stepping back in time - then into the Nut and Nettle to a delightful and warm welcome. The young lady brought the lunchtime menu - all vegan of course. My wife and I both had the focaccia sandwich - when it came the overall plate didn’t look a big portion, but it turned out to be absolutely perfect. To finish I had the kid’s hot chocolate (I’m a big kid at heart so felt I qualify) with vegan marshmallows. What a treat.

Outstanding lunch stop - Edit
Much bigger than we'd anticipated, the Nut and Nettle is located inside an old hotel. It is tastefully decorated and opens out into a courtyard garden.
Read moreThere is a holiday feel, laid back vibe about the whole place. Staff were helpful but did not hurry us to order.
We opted for the salad, a foccacia sandwich with fries and the savoury waffle.
What Nut and Nettle have absolutely nailed is the dressings. I didn't get to try any of the salad as it was eaten in record time, I was told, due to the incredible dressing. The dressing on the waffle was both sweet and savoury and worked beautifully with the herby waffle.
Bridlington old town is a lovely place to spend some time, with gift shops and art sellers in old buildings. More Whitby style than the seafront Bridlington style. Well worth a visit and eating at the Nut and Nettle will only improve the experience!

Coffee & cakes - Edit
The Nut & Nettle is a nice little café located in the Queens Hotel on the High Street in Bridlington's Old Town. It's a little way from the beach but worth a visit if you're on the lookout for some vegan goodies. We popped in for coffee & cakes and were very impressed. There was an amazing selection of vegan cakes to pick from. We tried three different items and everything was yummy. I particularly enjoyed my frangipane. Coffee were good too including an excellent oat milk flat white. Sit inside or enjoy a bite in the garden on a sunny day.

Nut and Nettle - Edit
Me and the pooch were visiting the area and just had to try an all vegan place in Bridlington, not somewhere that is bursting with vegan options so fantastic there is a vegan place there now. Set in a pub in the Old Town, street parking available but payable and time limited. The venue is very dog friendly, a huge plus for me and Daisy. I chose the garlic mushrooms on toast which were absolutely delicious. Lovely flavour, the cashew sauce was smooth and garlicky, and the bread tasted fresh. The coffee was good and the cake I took home for my daughter was a hit too. Look forward to returning.

A lovely, surprise find with great food - Edit
Our breakfast - more brunch really - creamy garlic mushrooms on toast and smoked carrot focaccia - were quickly served, well presented and mouth wateringly tasty. The coffee was strong and full flavoured. Our take-out pastries and savouries were equally good. The staff/ owners were friendly and helpful. Being our last day in the area was the only reason we didn't return for more.

Phenomenal Food - Edit
I'm rarely disappointed by restaurant trips. For me they fall in to two categories - somewhere we have researched and want to go; or somewhere functional, like I am away on business and just need a functional meal, and my expectations are adjusted accordingly.
Read moreThe Nut & Nettle falls firmly into the former. The idea of a trip to Bridlington first came up almost as a throw away joke as somewhere on the coast for a visit after a business trip to York. Then we started researching vegan options (thin on the ground it turns out, even the old staple of chips is difficult down by the sea front due to the Yorkshire habit of cooking with beef dripping) and found the Nut & Nettle which made our mind up - several miles of sandy beach and what sounded like an interesting vegan café sealed the deal.
We came here for a mid-morning breakfast, and we both chose the mushrooms on toast and an americano coffee. First up I am a bit of a coffee snob, and this was a great cup of coffee served in a pleasingly bright earthenware cup. Then the mushrooms on toast. This is a simple idea, but executed perfectly. This is food of the highest calibre. The UK has plenty of good vegan food (I live in Glasgow where we are blessed with a multitude of options), as well as tasty it is quite often fun, but in terms of quality of food this is right up there with Greens in Didsbury, Manchester as being the best in the UK.
We took away a couple of their BBQ sausage rolls and some cakes (rhubarb & rose frangipane and banoffee pie type thing) to eat later on by the seafront. Again these were all delicious.
It is also a really nice idea taking over a pub that isn't being used during the day to turn it into a café. The staff were also really nice, friendly, welcoming and attentive without being intrusive or overbearing in anyway. The garden out the back looks to be a real sun trap in the right weather.
The Nut & Nettle is very much the type of place to give you a reason to visit Bridlington, it is well worth the trip.
Pros: Incredible food, Fun decor, Friendly staff
Cons: Bridlington is a long way from Glasgow

This is my one of my favourite Restaurants of all time and definitely my favourite vegan restaurant. The food is delicious and their hot drinks are the best I have had. I often have the waffles which are savoury and Gluten Free (I do not eat Gluten). They are scrumptious . I love the Cashew Cream and coconut bacon that it comes with. I always have have the maca mushroom latte which is superb.
Read moreI have tried many other dishes, the Caesar salad is fantastic, the pasta was lovely, the cakes are out of this world! I believe there is something for everyone. I have brought many non vegan friends and family there and they all have loved it and have gone back on their own.
I could add many more superlatives to my review and will leave it at the title of this review - DIVINE!
