Pretty good and something different

Pretty good food and vegan options. Definitely nice to find something so different. Some of the meals were definitely not so authentic though.

Wish I could rate higher!

This place is a real hidden gem! We went on Saturday night and there was live jazz music and overall great vibes. Obviously this app is all about the vegan food and there were so many vegan options on the menu that it was extremely difficult to choose just a few to sample. We ended up choosing the corn, potato salad and gumbo and I wouldn’t change a thing. Delicious! The service was great with super friendly and helpful staff. And I’ll say again that the food was fantastic! I would definitely go out of my way to come here again next time I’m in Melbourne.

Vegan banquet was pretty good, jazz and vibes were nice

Me and a friend got the vegan banquet, all the food was pretty good, some were great, and the prices reasonable. Mocktail was nice. The live jazz and the indoor vibes were nice. Would recommend.

Delicious and items clearly identified

I was very impressed that a lot of the items are already vegan or have a vegan option. It was clearly marked and I was also impressed with the mocktails too. We ordered several sides to share (corn, collards and cauliflower). They were all delicious especially the corn. When they read out the special I asked if the sundae could be made vegan and it could! It was bigger than my head! The courtyard setting was good too and the staff were lovely

Pros: Vegan items clearly identified

Vegan.... Vegan Everywhere!!!

With a fresh new take on New Orleans Cuisine, 'The Moldy Fig' in Brunswick, Melbourne AUS offer a surprisingly large and very impressive range of vegan meals.
This is NOT just a few token vegan options or alternatives thrown together as an after thought, this is full blown Vegan versions of everyones favourite Louisiana staples such as Gumbo, Jambalaya, Po'Boys, Plantation Veg, and sooooo much more besides...... and these meals are BIG folks, no sad meagre salad here but large hearty dishes that easily leave you feeling full, satisfied, but especially healthy😄You can see the veg, you can taste the freshness, nothings oily or over salted, just organic ingredients, delicious flavours and tasteful spices coming together for a harmonious culinary experience!
While the restaurant may not be 100% Vegan, it is no exaggeration to say 4/5 of their menu already is, or can be optioned as Vegan, including 3 decadent desserts such as Fig & Cranberry hotcakes, Sticky Date Pudding, and Banana Foster all made from scratch in house.
There is so much choice to be had, you feel truly spoiled to have so much on offer including even a Vegan Banquet with 6 dishes for only $25 per person!!
In the bar, there is a thoughtful selection of Vegan Beer (locally brewed) and Vegan Wine both Red & White.

This family run local restaurant are doing much to promote and improve Vegan culture in their area and for that, along with the incredible food they produce they must be commended and should certainly be supported if you find yourself in the area.

Pros: Huge vegan menu, Home made substitutes, Fresh local organic produce
