Great coffee - Edit
Excellent standard speciality coffee in a great location. I fell out of the railway station needing caffeine and was so pleased to come here! Not tried the cakes but there were vegan options which looked lovely. They do the usual plant-based milks if you want a latte or cappuccino.

Cake with contamination warning! - Edit
The staff were lovely and coffee was with a chive of soya or oat milk.
Read moreAsked whether they had any vegan cakes and was given a wonderfully long list. Three loaves, two cookies, two slices, a cupcake. But was asked if I had an allergy as there was a risk of contamination in the bakery and the shop. To be fair, I could see this as all the cakes were in one display tray and there was only one knife to cut them, although all three loaves were vegan, so this may not be a problem.
Our party had a carrot cake and a coffee/walnut cake and both were very tasty.
Pros: Lots of cake choice, Nice position, Inside and outside seating
Cons: Vegan food not separated from non-vegan, No labelling, Single knife for every item

Best vegan pastries I have ever tasted - Edit
Being a vegan I have missed good quality cakes, that was until now. I discovered the milkman in Edinburgh. The cinnamon buns are divine and their almond croissants are the best. I shall be definitely visiting lots while I am staying in here on holiday .

Great teas and coffees - Edit
As titled and the staff do seem friendly unlike what some of the reviews state. It's possible that management have kept an eye on these reviews and have made some improvements.

Must visit! - Edit
So many vegan pastries, it’s hard to choose from. I got the almond croissant and it was genuinely delicious/possibly one of the best I’ve had 🥐

Delicious vegan pastries and cakes - Edit
Delicious vegan pastries and cakes, though note that nothing is labeled. Just ask the friendly staff and they will help you. They have oat milk and I believe soy, and the coffee is really nice.

Amazing vegan pastries - Edit
I cannot stress enough how much I recommend this cafe! Huge range of vegan pastries that are all absolutely delicious. They are not labelled as vegan, but if you ask they will let you know that the vast majority of them are! Perfect flaky pastries, croissants, pain au chocolat… Also a beautiful location in the Old Town. Don’t miss this place if you are a vegan visiting Edinburgh. Go around 9-9:30am and you might be able to get a table inside

Great vegan pastries - Edit
Despite the name of this place, lots of their pastries were vegan, and they were extremely good. You have to ask the staff which ones are vegan, as they're not clearly labelled. I would totally recommend going there for a delicious vegan breakfast right in the center of Edinburgh.

Delicious coffee - Edit
Wonderful atmosphere and great coffee. Staff are lovely! Would love to see bakery items that are both gluten-free and vegan, though they do currently have lots of good vegan-only options. Will definitely be back!

Tasty coffee and food options - Edit
This cafe offered multiple types of plant based milk. Lovely coffee and plenty of cakes and vegan pastries. We went back twice. Could have offered some jams or spreads as plain croissants. Be aware if you have a nut allergy as they store all in one container. If it’s crowded inside don’t worry there’s another one around the corner.

Tasty - Edit
Great place with delicious hot drinks and THE BEST vegan bakery selection. I tried the Christmas gingerbread special and loved it, and my matcha was delicious too. Bear in mind that it is a bit pricey though (a smallish hot drink cost nearly £5) and there isn't much indoor seating (it gets busy so we took our drinks and cakes out)

Good matcha latte & hazelnut bun - Edit
This place is right by where I was staying, so I went in and asked which of their baked goods were vegan. They were able to tell me those options right away. They had about 6 vegan things when I went. The individual helping me said her favorite was the chocolate hazelnut bun. So that's what I got, as well as a matcha latte with oat milk. All of it was very good!

Nice little café off royal mile - Edit
Small and cosy inside. Only two baristas so be prepared for a queue, three small tables inside. Offers non dairy milks for a small fee. Ask for which baked goods are vegan, usually some cakes and some cookies.

Lovely little café with amazing cakes - Edit
We loved „The Milkman“ - the Barista was so lovely! Very good coffee - and the amount of vegan options is huge. I loved the lemon-Poppyseed- cake. So moist and tasty. The café is very instagrammable - as if you entered a coziness-filte-bubble - so cute!
