Great taste, limited options, no alterations - Edit
Three options available Watermelon tostadas, El Vegan taco and Nachos (vegan). All three were great, high quality taste. But other menu items could easily have been vegan (incl. two vegetarian tacos, ie. leave off cheese) but there were no alterations.

Pros: Great flavours , Vegan nachos (incl. cheese sauce), Lots of gluten free options

Good but only a few vegan options - Edit
Our vegan options were delicious but there were only a few available. Contrary to what others have previously said, they informed use they could only provide the options listed as vegan on the menu. I wanted the quesadilla but they refused to make it without cheese. Bizarre! What we had was delicious though.

Cons: Only a few vegan options (3), Refused to veganise other dishes, Not many non alcoholic drinks on offer

Good food but way overpriced - Edit
Sorry but $28 for nachos? That’s about $10 too high for what you get here.
Read moreWe had the nachos and two tacos to share. Both vegan tacos were really good, but small and, again, overpriced at $8 each. Nachos were also really good but not worth the price tag.
On the plus side, servers were knowledgeable about what was vegan and ordering was simple. They were very crowded so make a reservation!
To sum up - really good food, good flavors, but not worth the $ IMO

Highly recommend - Edit
Had enough options that could be veganised. The corn riblets are a food item I never knew I needed in my life! They are a MUST HAVE! The staff were highly accommodating for g.f vegan options. We weren't particularly hungry so just also shared a guacamole and homemade tortilla chips and a cranberry sangria. A definite must visit.

Mexican cuisine is not my favourite food but this place changed all that. Loved the pumpkin tostado, guacamole, eggplant miso taco and vegan burrito. Amazing!!!!! Totally recommend. So full of flavour. Go hungry when you eat at this place as portions are decent sizes.

Real flavour & scrumptious! - Edit
We had an awesome dinner here. It was so nice to have tonnes of flavour in our food after our time in far North Queensland. We had the burritos which had lots of yummy stuff including lentils and beans, as well as the blackened veggies to start and a delicious cocktail. Worth stopping here when in FNQ.

AUTHENTIC AMAZING central american food. - Edit
Its hard to come by refried beans and corn tortillas that authentically resemble that of central america... but this place TOTALLY nails it. Every time i eat there i am taken back to my time in Mexico and guatemala. My favourite order is as follows: side of refried beans and rice, guacamole, corn tortillas and vegetables. Order that and trust me. This place is amazing. Must book during peak season.

Place rules. Stop by, it’s worth it - Edit
They made a stock side like rice and beans taste fantastically and the two taco’s options that are meat free are delicious. There’s a burrito option I didn’t try but I bet it’s amazing.

Burrito not worth $23 - Edit
After the glowing reviews of the burrito, we were shocked it was $23 of just plain rice and beans. Definitely one of the least tasty we have tried and far too pricey. Vegan chips and dips were most tasty thing we had.

As others have mentioned, they are flexible with a few vegetarian options making them into vegan. I had the super vegan burrito which was fab...so tasty that you wonder what needed to bother being added to make it not vegan.

Accommodating and delicious - Edit
We had a table of three vegans and one meat eaters and the waiters were great. The burritos were huge(!) and the tacos were really big considering they’re a single tapas not a meal. Everything was ridiculously good, especially the corn chips and sangria. We’ll be going back without a doubt

The Mexican is a wonderful little place in Port Douglas for vegans to eat.
Read moreThe staff is very friendly and well versed in veganising their menu. The guac is great and the fajitas and burritos are delicious!
Portions are quite sizeable and sharing is recommended.
It's better to call ahead or go by the evening before to make reservations if you want to have a seat, as they get quite busy.
I can further recommend the non alcoholic cocktails, very tasty and go well with their menu :)
Pros: Friendly and knowledgeable staff, Many options, Big portions
Cons: Usually packed
