Will give another go one day. - Edit
'Nothing to write home about' and disappointing considering the prices. We all had either a vegan or vegetarian dish (small plate and mains) and also shared a pizza. All agreed pizza (and our meals) needed more flavour other than the slightly curried battered cauliflower. $27 for two (steamed?) mushrooms and tofu that was meant to be spicy but wasn't. I'm happy to pay top dollar if the food is top notch and even on the small side if it is amazing. I will give them a second chance down the track, maybe we caught them on a bad night. I always like to give a place another go.

Little V - Edit
Yeah so Little V was closed because they lied about their opening hours (still mad) but ok, Metz was there to salvage the evening. They have a separate menu for vegans/vegos and actually cared about food hygiene, cross contamination controls and quality.

Pros: Melty vegan cheese , Friendly staff, Separate menu

Truffle pizza was ok - Edit
Truffle pizza didn’t have much of a truffle flavour which was disappointing. Would like to try some of the other veg options on offer next time. Dishes were on the pricier side. Service was attentive but dishes took awhile to be served.

Great vegan options! - Edit
The Metz has a whole veg/vegan menu and it did not disappoint! The vegan cheese on the pizza was perfectly soft and melty, the fried mushroom starter was heaven, the Mr Brown Nutella dessert blew my tiny mind. And the vegan version of the Amaretto Sour kicked ass! Beautiful decor and friendly staff (shout out to Esme) in a super convenient location. Highly recommended all round.

Amazing!!!!!!! - Edit
Made a reservation for Monday night. Lovely and warm inside and gorgeous interiors. The staff were extremely friendly and excited to share the vegan menu with us. They had a vegan special on (artichoke gnocchi) as well as the rest of the menu. We went all out and got the donzelle (fried pizza dough balls with sauce), mac and cheese (1 ball), bibimbap, and gnocchi. Large plates were pretty good, but the small plates were out favourites for flavour.

Beautiful on the outside rotten on the inside - Edit
I was treated so badly because I found the Beetroot risotto inedible despite trying to find a way to make it palatable. My palate was blamed by a staff member. It was humiliating. My friends refused to allow me to pay for a meal I couldn't eat but was expected to, so they sent me out of the premises and dealt with it. It took everything in me not to cry right there in the middle of the dining area.
Read moreTo put things in perspective, I found it had an intense vinegar taste through the risotto not just the granita on top. The intensity was one akin to a condiment and I quite enjoy eating hummus by the spoonful but would have required a whole loaf of bread to balance flavour enough to eat this risotto.
I was so looking forward to this meal as they seam very proud of thier vegan menu. I have never been treated so badly and what makes matters worse is I was asked how my meal was and for once in my life I was critical and got slammed for it.
Pros: Beautiful ambience and decor
Cons: Exhorbinantly Expensive , Deplorable customer relations

Plenty of vegan options! - Edit
Delicious food and drink. Probably some of the best vegan food I had in Launceston. They have all their vegan items listed in their menu but will also provide you with a seperate vegan menu if requested. We had the Metz Bread, Kofta and Chickpea Burger and wowie, it was all so yummy! Would definitely recommend ☺️

Great restaurant for a date night out - Edit
The Metz offers great food and drinks, in a nice atmosphere. You can order vegan options for side orders (e.g. crunchy cauliflower dippers, sweet popato fries), main courses (e.g. crunchy cauliflower tacos, „duck“ & field mushroom risotto), pizzas with vegan cheese (e.g. margherita, tuscan garden) and desserts (e.g. daily special sorbet). They also offer vegan wine and sparkling drinks.
