Fantastic Afternoon Tea

Expensive but good experience

I was actually here for a small reception dinner after a family members wedding at the city hall. Note: they have a plant based menu but this actually includes dairy products, this is confusing. I did ask the staff about it but they came up with some weird excuse and reason as to why.

We are in the Vault, a private dining experience. Staff were extremely caring and attentive, they ensured I knew what was suitable for vegans. This included my own butter for the bread to go with the parsnip soup we had at the start of the meal.

I also had the pesto pasta, which was very distinct flavours. Portion was small with more sauce with a few pieces of pasta. Main was very nice with a vegetable Wellington with mushroom gravy. Unfortunately, the waiter poured the gravy onto my plate and I would have preferred more, but the meal itself was lovely. I was informed the sides on the table were also all vegan.
Desert was sticky toffee pudding and passion fruit sorbet. Personally I felt a vanilla type ice cream would have been nicer but overall it was great.

Drinks are very expensive considering the size of the drinks. I think things are a little expensive but it is the experience you are paying for.

Delicious afternoon tea

Amazing afternoon tea in a spectacular room. Quite expensive but a great range of sandwiches and cakes, multiple teas to choose from and excellent service. Vegan and vegetarian menus available

Pros: Good selection, Delicious, Great room and service

Cons: Quite expensive but nice for a special occasion
