Fair Vegan Options - Edit
At the time of visit, the only two options were the sweet potato curry and a spiced bean burger. We got the sweet potato curry, and it was only okay. But when there aren’t many options in the area, this will do.

Great option at Loch Ness - Edit
We were on a bus trip from Edinburgh and were thrilled to find vegan lunch options that were clearly labeled and delicious. We had the vegan burger and the vegan curry - both were excellent. We also appreciated the staff’s whisky recommendations. ♥️

Nice for vegan options in the tourist area - Edit
About as inexpensive as can be found in the tourist area. Some of the staff were nice, others acted indifferently. I got the sweet potato and chickpea curry, which was delicious. They also happened to have split pea and carrot soup as their soup of the day. The regular menu had a chickpea burger also. I loved the food and was happy with this choice of restaurant.

Cute little pub! Their chickpea burger was good. The homemade vegan soup was perfect for a cold day.

The lock inn has some vegan options on the menu. The food was very tasty (although quite expensive). We had the chickpea curry (which was very spicy, although not labled as such) and a mushroom soup, which was also tasty.

Bland, expensive food - Edit
The single vegan main option is an £11 bowl of quite flavourless penne pasta in basil pesto. The vegan dessert option is a £7 chocolate brownie which they no longer offer with non-dairy ice cream and it was average. Boring, uninspiring and overpriced.

I had the penne pasta with rocket pesto as it was the only vegan main on the menu. It was decent, but a bit small for the price. They also do a vegan brownie (no vegan cream or ice cream) which is lovely.

Planning for a day trip to Loch Ness, I wasn't sure if I would find any veg-friendly places for my lunch stop -- so I was delighted to find this HappyCow listing, and quite satisfied by the actual experience as well!
Read moreThe menu has clearly marked all the vegan and vegetarian items -- if you're vegan, there are a half dozen (including some surprising choices like a cassoulet and a brownie, and some less surprising like salads) -- and if you're just vegetarian, a half dozen more.
I had the hummus plate with flatbread and peppers, which was fresh, tasty, and filling. The atmosphere in the pub's indoor and outdoor dining spaces, as well as the service, were totally charming. Having these options turned my good day into a great day!
