Fantastic regarding allergies - Edit
We went to last Zebra after the reviews on here. The staff were lovely but unfortunately due to complex allergies there was nothing on the menu that I could eat but the chef made me an amazing chickpea and cauliflower curry and rice. The staff were amazing and very accommodating.

Excellent - Edit
Service was outstanding from when we arrived. Staff very attentive. Having a separate plant based menu is excellent. Burger was great, noodle soup a little too soy saucey but still very good. Cocktails were also great. We were only in Carlisle for the night but we made a good choice of where to eat.

Hey you've answered my question. Surely not a real zebra skin!? But seems it is :-(

Amazing food - Edit
We ordered the cauliflower curry, noodles and fries. Everything was delightful. 10/10 would recommend this place for dinner if you are in the area.
Read moreSeparate plant based menu. Not an overwhelming amount of choice but everything sounds delicious.
Desserts are offered as well.
Coffee was great too!

A Border Town. A bar with a bouncer on the door at 4pm. Carlisle is quite a place.

Good vibes - Edit
Nice atmosphere. I have ate here once and had drinks here a couple of times. Really nice interior and a good location in Carlisle.
Read moreFood was okay but found the menu limited. The tofu was not as firm as I would have liked and would rather have had a fake chicken option instead.
Drink deals are good value. Great size cocktails and a wide selection.
Pros: Good drinks, Some decent vegan options
Cons: Limited menu

Satisfying - Edit
My wife and I both ordered theTofu Katsu which was good although perhaps too much food. We normally prefer firm tofu but this was fried nicely and tasted good. No room for desert.

Good food, tasty portions - Edit
Highly recommend the cauliflower wings, tofu katsu, and cookie dough brownie. Good selection of non-alcoholic drinks too. Word of warning: there’s a Zebra skin on the back wall — I hope it’s fake but it’s unnerving nonetheless!

Delicious vegan menu - Edit
Everything we tried at the Last Zebra was delicious. Standouts were the mushroom bruschetta and katsu tofu (the tofu itself was unseasoned but the sauce and breading were flavorful enough to make up for it). The popcorn cauliflower was good (though not super crispy), pasta and burger also got good reviews. I had two absolutely excellent cocktails. O-L-veg spouse enjoyed the hallloumi schnitzel.
Read moreThe service was good but the food comes out at a bit of a leisurely pace; we ordered some small plates and mains and hoped the small plates would come out first as appetizers, but we probably should have been more specific about this because everything came out at once and it was a bit comical trying to get everything to fit on the table. Possibly we ordered too much food. No regrets, though, we wanted to try everything!
I do wish they had vegan kids' menu options (a smaller pasta plate and burger would do the job nicely without forcing them to add anything to the menu).
There were outdoor tables for those still not eating indoors, assuming the weather improves.
Pros: food is absolutely delicious, separate plant-based menu makes ordering easy, nice atmosphere, a few outdoor tables
Cons: pacing leisurely - good for dates, less with kids
