Standard options but well done

I'm surprised to see a review stating that the Kestrel no longer caters for vegans, as this is not what I've found. They are part of a chain of pubs (Vintage Inns) who have several vegan options on their menu, all of which are pretty good, in my opinion.

I visited recently and had the squashsage and mushroom roll for starter (full flavour and good texture), followed by the penang curry for a main. It was fresh and had a good strong Thai flavour, although wasn't too hot. For dessert, I was able to try the panna cotta, which was really fresh and smooth, with lots of fresh fruit.

There is also a Moving Mountains burger as a main, which I've had before and really enjoyed.

All in all, there are enough reliably tasty vegan options on the menu to make this somewhere you can go with omni friends or family.

Not good

Rang to book a table for 8 and was told since lockdown they no longer cater for vegans. But I could have soup and some salad. Reclined the offer
