So many options! My daughter had the Maki Sushi with vegan meat which I think may have been sunfed chicken brand? I had the Yasai Itame with tofu and vegetables. The tofu was delicious and soft with flavour and slightly crunchy on the outside. #Veganuary

We visited The Jitsu for dinner and left very satisfied. Their dedicated vegan menu has a wide range of Japanese favourites.
Read moreFor starters, we enjoyed some dumplings and spring rolls.
For mains, I enjoyed the tofu furai curry whilst my partner enjoyed the grilled vegan meat bento. Both dishes had great Japanese flavours!
One thing to keep in mind, is that the serving sizes are on the bigger side. We probably wouldn’t have ordered starters if we knew how big the mains would be.

This place is my go-to for yummy vegan food. The separate menu has so much to choose from, but I almost always order the same thing (it's just too good!). Everything is also very well priced for what you get.

The dumplings are great, food is affordable, huge portions, and staff go above and beyond.

The curries actually tasted like in Japan, and the miso soup was yummy.
We’ll absolutely be going back here again, want to try everything! Highly recommend the bento box with the “grilled” vegan meat, 10/10!

Lots of vegan options here. We tried the vegan bento with teriyaki tofu and the katsu vegan curry (using Sunfed ‘chicken’) - both we’re very tasty and well priced. Only downside was that we weren’t shown a drinks menu or asked if we wanted any drinks.

So nice to find a place that does vegan Japanese curry. Tasty and super hot (I was a bit too excited burned my lip), the curry was perhaps a bit on the sweet side, but in my experience that’s typical in NZ. Also had the seaweed salad, which I rarely can pass up, and it was quite good as well, again, though perhaps a bit sweeter than my preference.

Such a great little gem if you like Japanese food. They even have a separate vegan menu. I had the vegan sushi platter and the vegetable tempura which were both amazing. Staff was friendly and attentive.

I've always liked the Jitsu but I was a bit nervous going there for the first time after giving up meat - not to worry! They have an additional vegan menu with an incredible selection: tempura, curry, stirfries, and sushi, even teppanyaki. I went with the vegan meat spicy katsu bento, which was divine - it came with fried spring rolls, vegan sushi, crunchy pickles, rice, salad, and a vegetable miso soup, all of which were delicious. A really lovely meal, and I look forward to trying other things from the menu next time.

Incredible vegan food! They have an entire vegan menu with so much to choose from. Fresh sushi is amazing, dumplings too, the Katsu Curry is delicious and heaps of beautiful vegetables in the stir fry, vegan meat used is Sunfed chicken, so yum! Highly recommend! The staff were so helpful and lovely, wish we weren't just visiting!

This place is right in the octagon and opens later than other places with good vegan options. Having a seperate vegan menu was great. The vegan tonkatsu was amazing. Kind of a shame they didn't just do a vegan miso, instead of the vegetable soup.

This is hands down my favourite restaurant in Dunedin, even before I ate vegan. And now they have a fully separate vegan menu with my favourites on it! My go to is any one of the vegan curries and dumplings. So damn delicious. And quick service and pretty reasonably priced
