Lovely food not that many choices - Edit
There is a separate vegan/ vege menu but the choices are not that exciting and it’s expensive but it is the Ivy I suppose. This is Cambridge so better vegan options elsewhere. Also the only desserts were sorbet fruit and yogurt which is not imaginative at all. Last time I went they had a vegan panacotta so it was a shame they didn’t have that.

Afternoon tea, didn’t reach it’s expectation - Edit
Came for a our engagement celebration and whilst we enjoyed the higher level of dining you felt like a number with tables being churning out. Despite stating vegan in the booking, on the phone to confirm, to the host on arrival and to the waiter it came out with meat & diary. Took a whole hour to change, and felt a sad version to those around us who had smoke decoration. In which time we’d finished our drink which was to go with it, a sorry in the form of a top up would have cost nothing and gone a long way. Felt embarrassed to tell our friends who bought this generous gift for us.

Surprisingly good value - Edit
I was surprised at how many vegan options there were. As soon as we mentioned we were vegan and vegetarian they brought us a whole new menu. The portions were generous and filling and a main was about the same price as pizza express. We sat outside on a lovely sunny day, when we went in it was very noisy and busy. My mum mentioned it was my birthday and at the end of the meal they brought me a free dessert, unfortunately, it wasn't vegan, but she enjoyed it.

New Must-Try Vegan Menu - Edit
Previously, I never liked going to the Ivy for a meal because the vegan options were so limited. However, they now have a new vegetarian and vegan menu with an array of starters, mains and desserts that are unique and very tasty. Make sure you ask for the vegan/vegetarian menu on arrival as on their standard menu nothing is labelled. I just had the new vegan Courgette Spaghetti and it was very unusual but delicious too. I would have liked some more actual courgette in it but they give u a side pot of tomato sauce to add in and it’s very tasty; unlike any vegan pasta dish I’ve had before! The portions are decent but it’s obviously expensive for what it is (this is expected in the Ivy though). They also now have a vegan Tomato Soup for starters and a vegan Pana Cotta for dessert which I will definitely try when I visit next time! They also still have their classic veggie and vegan dishes still on the menu. will definitely be going to the Ivy more often now and I’m so happy to see they have made the effort to give us vegans more tasty options.

Wonderful dining experience - Edit
Visited with two lovely friends and had the best time! Eating here is a proper experience and feels very luxurious. Vegan & GF options are clearly labelled, with separate menus available upon request. Absolutely delicious food and cocktails (ask to check which are vegan). Will definitely visit again on special occasions as quite expensive, but worth it!

A Lovely Dining Experience - Edit
I so wanted to give The Ivy more than three stars but the vegan options fell flat. The food was nice enough but nothing imaginative: salads, curry, sorbet, fruit. The restaurant and service, however, was glorious with attention to detail in abundance. The setting really does make for a special dining experience.

PLEASE improve your vegan offerings 💚
Pros: Vegan and vegetarian menu, Brilliant service, Beautiful restaurant
Cons: Few vegan options, Vegan options available are not very exciting, Classic fruit or sorbet dessert disappointment

Expected more.... - Edit
The Ivy provides a great service with a lovely warm atmosphere, upmarket but not in a snobbish way.
Read moreThere were 2 vegan options for starter and 2 for main, with just a fruit salad option for dessert. Fruit as the only option in a fine dining restaurant to be honest is just plain lazy. Both starter options were salads and the mains were a larger portion of one of the salads or a curry. I opted for tomato and avocado cocktail salad to start, which to be honest was extremely nice! The main was really just a salad with hoi sin sauce. It was ok, but nothing to get excited about. I order some chips on the side as it just wasnt going to cut it!
So, nice place if you want to go somewhere for a special occassion, but dont expect any vegan luxury dishes.
The omnis in the group raved about their food so I think the chef just needs to be a bit more creative with the options and it would be great.
Pros: Nice atmoshphere, Friendly staff
Cons: Salad options , Lazy dessert choice!

Quite an amazing experience - Edit
The Ivy is not cheap but we think it is worth every penny! We don’t think the portions are small; they are sufficient and delicious!
Read moreThe way the staff is treating you is an unique experience.
We started with the salted smoked almonds and spiced green olives with The Ivy beer (local brewed for them) and a glass of red wine, all tasted very good.
As the main dish my husband had the Sweet potato Keralan Curry and I had the Jackfruit & peanut bang bang salad with the side dish Baked sweet potatos, harissa coconut ‘yoghurt’, mint and coriander dressing.
As a dessert my husband chose the Vegetarian Frozen berries, which could be made vegan and I had sorbet with a sort of cookiecracker on it which turned out to be not vegan when I asked before tasting! My husband had a double expresso.
The bill was around 80 pounds, but we wouldn't have missed it for the world! We saw it as a celebration of our holiday. (We never dine out, only lunches).
The interior is very colourful and an experience itself.
Pros: Seperate veggie card, Friendly staff, High quality food
Cons: okay not cheap but if you can afford it...

Good food and service, small portions - Edit
I came here for a family dinner, and the service was great, welcoming but not too formal or overwhelming!

Wonderful vegan options for dinner. - Edit
The Ivy has a dedicated Vegetarian/Vegan menu with clearly marked vegan items. There are only a few vegan items but what they have is wonderful. I need to also mention that it's a beautiful restaurant with excellent service. The Sweet potato Keralan curry and Baked sweet potato with harissa coconut “yoghurt” were my two favorite items. I also loved the deserts. The only downside at all was I came here once for brunch and they had no breakfast items for vegans but simply gave me the vegan dinner menu again. I was still happy to have such wonderful food but I thought a vegan breakfast item would have been a nice addition.
Read moreThe food and experience were 5/5 for a non-veg restaurant.
Pros: vegetarian and vegan menu, wonderful food, excellent service
Cons: No real vegan brunch options.
