We stopped at The Informalist for brunch as we passed through town on our way home from vacation. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere with several vegan options. I ordered the Vegan Huevos Ranchos. It was packed with flavor and very filling. Great service and good food!

Great weekend brunch and dinner anytime - Edit
One of my favorite places to eat for vegan options in Eau Claire. Weekend brunch has a couple great choices, and for dinner there is always a couple of regular vegan menu items, but the wood-fired pizza is THE best. They usually have at least one vegan dessert option.

Tofu scramble for breakfast - Edit
Staying at the hotel here and noticed they offer a “plant based” scramble. Assumed it was JUST Egg but it turns out they can do a true tofu scramble. It’s decent considering the area and lack of options. Staff understood dietary restrictions and didn’t mind checking ingredients for me, but this is always YMMV territory.

Meh brunch good pizza - Edit
The huevos rancheros seemed like a bunch of vegan substitutes thrown together, not a cohesive dish. Not a fan of their tofu scramble.

Informalist has some good pizza options and this sweet cauliflower deal. Really good stuff!! Love this place and eat here every time I’m in town. Yummy French fries.

I ordered their veggie pizza two nights in a row, swapping the cheese for vegan cheese. When it was done correctly the order was very good, but the second night the hostess misunderstood and thought I wanted a vegan pizza made non-vegan. Given that nothing on their menu is default vegan, she didn't clarify and by the time I realized I had the wrong pizza their kitchen was closed. She did apologize and give me one of the premade meals from the cafe next door, but paying $31 (with tip) for a dish that barely served one was deeply disappointing.

Vegan brunch options - Edit
Not many places you can go to find good veggie or especially vegan brunch options. While Informalist is expensive they have great vegan brunch options to choose from - including the breakfast nachos!

Will mess up your order - Edit
The informalist has good food when they get it right, but it's expensive and they've messed up my vegan orders twice now and served me animal products. They also upcharge pizzas for using vegan cheese. $7 extra for two pizzas to not have animal products in them. Ridiculous..

I am currently (2021) staying at the hotel where The Informalist is located. There are no vegan or vegetarian options on the menu. Zippo.
