Cosy & Creative Cafe

Such a cosy, homely, inviting space, tucked away inside a community arts centre. We were only stopping by to pick up takeaway on our way through the area, though the wonderfully decorated interior made us want to stay! The owner was lovely and down to earth. Our takeaway breakfast was tasty and so considerately put together - she clearly puts care and creativity into everything. And the prices were really affordable too. Great little find.

Pros: Inviting space, Affordable pricing, Delicious vegan breakfast

One of the best old school art centre veggie cafes

Old school art centre veggie cafe. A delight away from the hubbub of the town in a relaxed atmosphere with very tasty, fresh food. Breakfasts in the morning, then gorgeous falafel/nut roast/bean burger types with different salads at lunch time.
1/2 the long menu was vegan, the rest veggie.
Very friendly & easy going people running it and a positive vibe in the cafe and building.
Well worth a visit, scoffingly good :-)

Delicious!

This gem of a cafe is tucked away inside the Liskerrett Community Centre, and wow was it well worth the visit! The ingredients used were so fresh and delicious, and it felt like much more of a wholesome lunch than a lot of places that tend to rely on mock meats. Staff were really friendly and welcoming and the cafe had an overall really calm, tranquil feel to it. Definitely worth a visit.

Beyond brilliant! This lady deserves a Michelin award!

What Cathy is doing at The Hub Café is beyond incredible. Putting the food to one side for a second, the environment in which this vegetarian restaurant is set is spotless, uplifting, welcoming, fun, friendly and very green. Plants, music, table decorations - everything brings the environment to life. Cathy herself is the most welcoming and kind person you are ever likely to meet. Then we come to the food. Oh my goodness. What this lovely lady is achieving here is beyond belief! With just one part-time kitchen help, she is producing food that is of the very highest quality and taste. Everything coffee, drinks, cutlery, is stunning and the food itself is magical to eat: bursting with texture, flavour and variety - each mouthful is a joy to savour. Thank you Cathy for the best vegetarian food we have found in years and likely to be one of the very best dedicated vegetarian restaurants in the whole of England at the moment. We've lost so many dedicated Vegetarian and Vegan restaurants that this island of hope and joy represents more than just a wonderful experience! PLEASE CATHY TRAIN MORE PEOPLE TO DO WHAT YOU'RE DOING! Well done! Thank you! And 1000% brilliant, in every way!

Pros: Generous portions & value for money, Excellent service, welcome, hygiene & environment , Incredible food

Cons: Why is this woman not famous?

A hidden gem!"

Amazing choice of food - we had the curry and falafel focaccia and both were delicious. We had small plates but the portions were very generous and good value. The service was lovely - will definitely return.

Amazing find

The food here never disappoints - in fact the only disappointment is when they’re sold out because they’re so busy! The salad is so much more than a salad and full of wonderful veggies and grains etc! Great selection! #Veganuary

Pros: Loads of vegan options , The cook is an incredible cook, Very friendly and welcoming

Lovely community cafe

Bright and cheery cafe in a community building. Varied menu of lunch foods, including soup, salad, curry, burger, fritters etc. we had the curry and mixed salad bowl. Menu is written up on a board and doesn't detail which things are vegan, but just specify and the staff are really friendly and happy to help. Definitely recommend.

Awesome vegan food

The owner was really nice and welcoming and her food really good and tasty. Her soup was to die for! Strongly recommended, all cooked from scratch, good quality and amazingly rich plates with so many different vegetables/grains/beans and seeds. A fest for the eyes and the soul ... not just the belly.
The cafe is located in a community center, not far from town center and it’s warm, welcoming and clean.

Pros: Delicious vegan food, Nice atmosphere , Good prices

Cons: Not in town center but easy parking

The Place for Salads

I eat here regularly because the food is always freshly made with the best ingredients. My top picks are the Homity Pie With Salad and the Vegetarian Roast.
The owner, Kath, takes great pride in the food she provides and keeps the kitchen spotless for a level 5 hygiene rating.

Pros: Great value for money, Fresh and interesting salads, Relaxed atmosphere with friendly service

Cons: Shabby chic setting would benefit from a refresh
