Delicious vegan food - especially considering the area - Edit
In the Highlands there seems to be a lack of vegan food so we were pleasantly surprised to find vegan pancakes, biscoff cinnamon buns, a vegan burger and soup on the menu. Whilst it's only a few items it's a whole lot more than other places we came across, and everything was delicious!

Cons: Small seating area, Could have more vegan options (obviously!)

Fresh baked bread and coffee, with sustainable shop & dry goods re-fill - Edit
Located next to Balmoral, this wee cafe and shop is a fantastic place to get coffee, fresh baked bread and to stop for lunch. They have a changeable menu which includes breakfast (usually pancakes make it on the menu) and lunches (which usually include some veggie burger or soup option). When they are fully open, they also operate like a little shop and carry sustainable cleaning products, soaps and local goods. They also do a dry goods re-fill which has chickpeas, lentils and the works!

Cute and cosy in the cairngorms - Edit
A really nice wee lunch and coffee stop just along from the picturesque town of Ballater. Although not labelled as vegan, the small menu did have vegan options as confirmed by friendly staff. Did not disappoint- I had sweet potato mash on toast (odd but nice combo!) that was full of flavour and an oat milk latte. Also had lots of sustainable products available to buy as well as bread, jams etc. Lovely and will be back!

In the shadow of balmoral castle - Edit
This used to be a honesty box on the side of the road selling Scotland’s best bread, today I was delighted to see a cafe has taken it’s place, and what a cafe, local sourced ingredients, refillable and package free goods and a expanding vegan menu, fantastic!

Pros: Interesting changing menu, Not just food, Warm welcome
Cons: Limited indoor seating
