The pub itself was ok. We picked this place as it was a central location and we were meeting up with some friends. The menu looked promising as it had a few vegan options.
Read moreSo I went for the vegan lasagne. What could go wrong with a lasagne. It's pretty straight forward. So this dish turns up in front of me. With burned vegan cheese around the edges and not quite melted in the middle. I tuck in... There was no pasta sheets at all? It was a stodgy concoction of potato, carrot, and some mystery vegetables in a bland tomato sauce, all overcooked and simply inedible. I was grateful for the huge plate of chips that was brought for everyone to share.
One of our friends ordered the vegan curry which came about 10 minutes after everyone else's meal, and it seems that he had the exact same veggies in his dish as I had in mine, but in a curry flavoured sauce instead of tomato paste.

We had lunch here as it was only slightly off our route going home from Devon. The pub was very quiet but the service slow. Staff were pleasant and offered several dairy free options, but the food was really disappointing. We won’t be eating there again.

Loads of vegan options - Edit
Good range of tasty homemade vegan options and great value. Vegan moussaka was on the specials board with vegan lasagne, vegan mushroom stroganoff, vegan chicken burger and a vegan burger on the regular menu. A beer festival was on too!

I had the vegan lasagne and it was very good, the portion size was same as the meat version so I didn't feel I was losing out as is the case sonetimes. Asked for vegan dessert options and chose the apple and caramel slice with vegan ice cream. I would definitely eat here again.
