I loved my experience here! The store has a comforting, homey vibe to it. There’s a cute store cat to greet you when you enter, even. The owner is also very helpful and extremely kind. She even gave me a vegan sticker freebie! Good selection of vegan snacks, cookbooks, and other products. Best experience I’ve had out of any stores I’ve been to.

This is one of my FAVORITE vegan spots in Charlotte 😍 here you will find vegan groceries, sustainable home & toiletry products, and a plethora of used books. Bonus points go to the sweet owner and her cats that roam the shop 💚💚

Only place in Charlotte to buy VDog, vegan dog food and treats. My dog is vegan and it's great to have a local store that carries the dog food.

I've been going to Book Buyers for longer than I can track, and occasionally bought things from the Greener Apple even when I was only vegetarian - since becoming vegan, they've been indispensable. Though there are only a few shelves at the front of the bookstore, those shelves are crammed full of cruelty free food and personal care items, so it feels larger than it is. Add that to the cookbooks and accessories - how nice to know your toothbrush or bag aren't dependent on suffering! - and the bookstore cat who often sits up front, it's a wonderful place to shop.
Read moreThe only real downside, for me, is that their 'clearance' section is composed largely of expired food, which should be taken off the shelves and not sold to consumers even at a discount! Sometimes there's expired food on other shelves as well, so it's good to keep an eye out for the dates.

This is a lovely, small vegan pantry located inside a used bookstore. Nice selection of stuff, but no cold (refrigerated or frozen) goods. They have a lot of great gift items, perfect for the holidays (like those little chocolate gift boxes, but vegan!)

Wonderful vegan shop located in bookstore - Edit
The Greener Apple is a fantastic locally owned shop inside a used bookstore. They offer all kinds of vegan snacks and hard-to-find ingredients. I loved their selection of eco-friendly and zero/low waste body and home products. Great place to buy gifts including locally made soap and candles, and eco-friendly toys and of course, books! The owner was extremely nice and helpful and even gave me a gift upon checkout! An all-around great experience. Thank you Leigh and the Greener Apple!

Located in the very front of the Book Buyers store, The Greener Apple offers a variety of vegan snacks, pantry essentials, eco-friendly products ranging from home to body care, and a whole section of vegan books.

Terrific little locally owned shop in front part of a bookstore. Only place I know of in CLT that sells vdog. Lots of fun stuff!
