Went yesterday for lunch and got the vegan burger which was made of chickpeas. I had them add onions and I asked for jalapeños but they didn’t have any so he recommended their house made hot sauce to go along with it. It was amazing and super super spicy. The burger was great and they gave several dipping sauces along with the hot sauce (not shown). I also got the vegan brownie which had make of the consistency of a rough mousse. It was ok and the passion fruit ice cream that went with it was a bit weird tasting and left a lingering weird taste in my mouth. That being said, the passion fruit smoothie was incredible.

The restaurant has 2 menus, one with meat and one for vegetarian/vegan food. They have plenty and it's delicious. The bread is amazing (with hummus and the burger buns). Super friendly staff.

Lots of vegan options and clearly marked on the menu. Highly recommend the falafel pita. Pita bread was fresh and so yummy. Hubs got vegan pasta dish. Very good but oily. We ordered a side of white rice to enjoy the oily sauce left over. Highly recommend The Green Spoon as there are no all vegan restaurants in this area.

The vegan food options were clearly labelled and there was plenty to choose from. The portions are generous and everything was delicious. We would recommend the vegan burger, the tacos and the falafel pitta. The hummus was especially good. We were only in La Fortuna 2 days and we ate there twice it was so good. Also free WiFi.

I went here and ordered a dragon fruit lemonade and tacos. The tacos were not to my taste, however the lemonade was very nice. This place has their own home made salsa and it is very spicy. It was one of the spiciest salsas I have ever had. It was quite busy and had a nice atmosphere. Menus were separated for meat and vegetarian/vegan. The prices are very fair for the area.

Food was OK. We had the vegan burger. Unfortunately the sauce tasted like almost nothing and we had to use extra salt and ketchup. The patty was also falling apart so it became a mess to eat. Can't judge the other dishes.
Price wise appears to be a much better deal than other places we have seen in Costa Rica and la fortuna.

-quinoa with salt, broccoli, green beans, cauliflower, salad, and beans
•this was the winner of the night. A good amount of food and really tasty.

-pesto, cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, avocado, artisan bread

Overall cute place, attentive and hospitable staff. Food was great quality and fresh which made every dish taste great.
There is steak and chicken on the menu that would satisfy a diverse group.
I would say if you are hungry go for the quinoa bowl as it was a good portion of food and tasty.
It is on par with vegan places in the states in regards to portions, pricing, and vibe.
*5 Stars is reserved for fully vegan/vegetarian places on HappyCow, but I would give this place 5 Stars because it allows for everyone to enjoy a meal together without having to compromise and feel like someone is losing out.

To call the dishes at this place ‘options ‘ does a disservice to them. I class options as when a place gets a dish, takes off the animal products originally on it and then charges you the same. This restaurant has a separate vegan/vegetarian menu with tasty nutritious filling meals on it. It’s reasonably priced and is a good stop after a hard days activities. And the staff are lovely.

A vegan, a vegetarian and 3 omnivores walked into the Green Spoon. An hour later, they all walked away extremely satisfied. I had the veggie tacos and they were so tasty. My vegetarian son had the quinoa cakes (also vegan) and they were really good as well. The separate menu for vegans and vegetarians was so appreciated.
