I’ve eaten here several times and this was the exception for not getting 5 stars this time. Ordered two brownies to go. The portion sizes were good, but they were completely different sizes one huge and one small. Also extremely overpriced for just two brownies. 9,50€. I was also very surprised and disappointed in the not environmentally friendly styrofoam packaging.

Since a couple that reserved just finished when we entered, we were the only guests and thus had full attention of the owner (who didn't kick us out even though we had no reservation). She's a very friendly and interesting expat who opened this very needed establishment in Santiago. I think we'd have repeated if we stayed longer. I understand that if a bigger group goes your experience might be different, as it is not a very big restaurant. Since we went on a Sunday, she didn't have desserts anymore, as her daughter makes them Mo-Fri, which was a bummer 🥲

The Green House is a charming small venue with an equally small, but appealing menu, offering 3 starters and 3 mains from around the world. The Korean rice balls were good, but the African peanut stew was king; a very satisfying combination of exotic flavours. The owner was a fantastic host as well.

We were really looking forward to this meal. We always try and find a happy cow recommended vegan restaurant anywhere we go and support them and their principles. A meal out for us is a luxury, we paid €27 for 2 mains and 2 drinks and had hoped to really enjoy them. It started oddly when we were told the kitchen was very busy so they would bring the two main meals separately/consecutively so we could share them and this would help the kitchen. OK, no problem we thought. Ordered a beer and a red wine, a vegetable curry and vegetable noodles. The restaurant was very full, overly so with people waiting for tables. We were lucky to get a shared table with another customer and had a pleasant time chatting with him whilst we waited for food and drinks. The drinks came, I was given a white wine, not chilled. There was no time to say but I ordered red as the waitress was gone. I thought let it go. The first meal came, we started to eat and realised it was not what we had ordered but it was pleasant and the restaurant was chaotic so again just accepted it. The waitress took our empty plates and asked if we wanted anything else, we said we have a second meal already ordered? We also ordered a second beer. The second meal came, the second beer didn't. The second meal was OK, not particularly hot or flavoursome. When we finished the second meal, the waitress was asked again for the beer and she said she didn't have time to bring it to us and then the owner came and said she had people waiting for our table so would we mind leaving?? No dessert, no coffee, no second beer. The man we shared the table with asked if his main course was still coming and it was then brought to him. He laughingly suggested we must have offended somehow. In all my days we have never been treated like this in a restaurant. And a vegan restaurant too! So so upset by this experience. The owner should focus on giving the customers in the restaurant the best experience, not trying to rush everyone through like they are on a conveyor belt. I've never given such a poor review in all my years on Happy Cow and sad to do it now but they need to do much better.

Fuimos un gran grupo de personas para cenar y la propietaria nos aconsejó que pidiéramos un menú especial para probar todas las tapas y platos entre todos. Nos dijo que normalmente la gente se llena con esa cantidad, y que salía muy bien de precio por persona. Definitivamente, aunque estaba muy bueno, nos quedamos con hambre y tuvimos que pedir más platos, que además de resultar en bastante dinero por persona para no acabar llenos, tardaron mucho en servirnos... Entre que nos sentamos y nos fuimos, pasaron dos horas y media. Entendimos que había mucho trabajo, pero nos sentimos bastante desatendidos ya que nos sentamos fuera y solo estaban pendientes del interior.

This is a small bar/restaurant with not many seats and a queue out the door from early in the evening. The food is incredible, a small number of options only each night (3 tapas, 3 mains, 1 dessert when we visited) but fresh, delicious, and incredibly high quality.

As soon as I stepped foot in The Green House I felt welcomed. I was on my own and was invited to sit at the bar which made the entire experience more than just getting some food, it was sharing stories, laughter, culture. I had the Thai Noodles and they were fantastic too! Loved my evening at The Green House and I will be back next time I'm in Santiago 100%. Thank you for creating such a beautiful space ❤️

Read moreFuimos cuatro. Pedimos tres entrantes y tres principales. Uno de cada opción para probarlo. Me gustaron especialmente las empanadillas de berenjena y la primera opción de los platos principales (no recuerdo el nombre: un guiso con calabaza, garbanzos, más cosas y arroz).
Otro chico y yo cogimos otro entrante porque nos quedamos con un poquito de hambre. Él los falafel y yo las berenjenas. Yo prefiero los falafel fritos, que están menos secos y además no veo nada de malo en tomar un poquito de grasa de vez en cuando (de hecho necesitamos sus ácidos grasos omega 3 y 6). Pero en fin, al otro chico le encantaron; para gustos, los colores!
Y luego el postre: Brownie casero vegano. Riquísimo!
Pros: Trato: la señora es un encanto , Comida: Riquísima , Poder rellenar el agua del té.
Cons: Veinte euros en total.

I can only assume that the people who give this place rave reviews are used to the dearth of vegan options in Spain. It was OK and it was vegan, but if there were any competition it would not stand up. The food was under-seasoned and barely warm. In addition, it is soooo uncomfortable... a 'table for two' apparently equates to two bar stools at the bar.

Allervriendelijkste ontvangst, kleine maar leuk ingerichte zaak, drie voorgerechten en drie hoofdgerechten. Nam de Jambalaya, heerlijk die combinatie mat pistachenoten en granaatappel en een mooie portie. Ook de curry samosas en de zoete aardappel falafel lekker met de zelfgemaakte sauzen. Als dessert de chocobrowniw, je denkt daar hij stevig is dat die ook machtig is maar juist niet, echt heerlijk. Een aanrader. En de prijzen vallen enorm mee, een pelgrimsmenu is veel duurder en die zijn smakeloos en ongezond.

This place is amazing! It's fully vegan which is great and there's a decent amount of variety and choice too. The vibes, interior and design were all perfect and it's a really nice place to be. The staff seemed really nice too and the waitress there when I ate was so polite and sweet.
