Best Avo on Toast - Edit
Being vegan in cattle country means I’ve had A LOT of avocado on toast 😂 and I’m here to say that The Grazing Goat has the best avo on toast in Mackay.
Read moreStacked high and full of flavour. Cucumber strips and the lemon flavour that’s either in the sauce or the almond spread that adds a freshness missing from other cafés offerings. It’s vegan, so you can order this straight from the menu with no changes needed.
The Grazing Goat also stocks Raw Gems slices. A local favourite for anyone in the know.
I’ve not had a bad coffee from The Grazing Goat yet.
Whether vegan or not, the menu is very well priced.
Pros: Best avocado on toast in Mackay!, Great atmosphere, fun environment when busy. , Good coffee from Primal Roasters.
Cons: No legend on menu but ingredients are listed. , The entry door sucks haha. It’s so heavy.

Bad service - Edit
Food was average, huge menu though which is a plus. Really annoyed with the young waitress. She picked food up off the floor that my son had dropped with a napkin, put the napkin and food on his plate and then took away his plate. He wasn’t done and there was more then half his food left on his plate. She didn’t ask if he was done until after placing the dirty napkin on his plate. She didn’t once apologise. She clearly needs more training. Coffee was also not that good. Won’t be back.

Good vegan options - Edit
The food was good with some clear vegan options. Staff were friendly and helpful offering to make up other vegan options if I wanted. Went here for lunch one day and breakfast the next 😁

Plenty of vegan options - Edit
I've visited Grazing Goat a few times now. I've previously ordered (and enjoyed) the Vegan Breakfast and a vegan smoothie bowl. I've also tried the raw caramel slice from the display cabinet and a salted caramel smoothie. Neither had a salted caramel flavour unfortunately, the slice was bland and the smoothie was rather thin and tasted only of banana. Can be quite busy on the weekend. Overall, its in a convenient central location with a number of vegan options - so that is handy.

Cons: On the pricey side, Some options were a miss, Can get quite busy - slow service

Breakfast at Grazing Goat Mackay - Edit
I had the all day breakfast today, I was very disappointed, the baked salmon was tinned I have used the same on my sandwiches for lunch. The lightly toasted Turkish bread was stale, it crumbled and fell apart. The wilted spinach was raw just thrown on top.
Read moreAs I walked South past the other venues and saw how good their breakfast looked, I though I wont be back, so many good options within walking distance.
Pros: Nice to sit in the sun outside
Cons: Just bad food, Not very friendly staff

avoid - Edit
The Big Vegan Breakfast is a good choice. Rich and yummy. Many people told me about the rudeness of the staff, all true! Rude, unkind and very unprofessional. Dirty dishes and cutlery, long wait and never smile staff. You should avoid this experience if you can.

Lovely place, nice food - Edit
Avo toast with mushroom & cashew cheese was nice, although a quite oily. Seems they may have put oil on the bread as a replacement for butter? There really is no need, avocado is oily/buttery by enough itself. Especially when it is served with cashew cheese & fried mushrooms. Tofu poké bowl also nice. Juices are good. Plenty of vegan options - but make sure to specify vegan when ordering as they have items on the main menu which are not vegan also on the vegan menu (at the back of the main menu) in a veganised version. Specify vegan or they will make the non-vegan version. Only raw cakes available for vegan dessert.

Best Vegan Big Breakfast - Edit
One of the best vegan big breakfasts I've ever had. Wasn't expecting much of vegan food in Mackay but this one blew me away.
