Okay for a neighbourhood restaurant - Edit
"The Grange" is an Indian restaurant listed as "serves meat, has vegan options". And indeed, the menu has a fair number of vegetable dishes. When I asked, they said most of them are vegan by default or could easily be made vegan.
Read moreI ordered a vegetable biryani (spiced rice with a great variety of vegetables), which is one of my favourite dishes. The waiter didn't ask how spicy I wanted it. It turned out to be not spicy at all. The biryani came with a curry, which is unusual. But since the rice was unusually dry, I used the curry to moisturise the food a little. The biryani with curry was okay, but nothing special. It lacked a true Indian taste and the variety of ingredients biryani is known for. The main vegetables were potato, onion and tomato and not much else.
The Grange is a local restaurant and for a neighbourhood restaurant the quality is okay. The atmosphere is even kind of high class with big soft seats and a nice decor.
Please notice that satnav will actually drop you off behind the restaurant, in front of a supermarket (which was great, I needed some groceries). The supermarket has very restricted short term parking, so the waiter in the restaurant advised me to park in front, where parking is free (and plentiful).
Pros: decent selection of vegan / vegetarian, kind of classy inside, easy to park
Cons: lacks variety in ingredients, very mild taste (come on, this is Indian food!)
