Loved it - Edit
Been to the LA and LBC locations several times, had many of the dishes on the menu and everything was outstanding. The club Sandwich and the Cobb salad are probably my 2 favorites but I haven’t had anything that wasn’t amazing. Can’t go wrong with this restaurant choice. If you’re in LA or Long Beach definitely stop by and treat yourself.

Their hot sauce was so good & spicy I bought one to take home. Everything tasted delicious. The Huevos a la Mexicana plate was so good & so was the falafel wrap, it was very refreshing.

I can’t really put into words how great the food is here. We came for breakfast, I had the breakfast crepe, my partner had a tofu scramble with vegetables etc, was so delicious and the servers were all lovely. We got a club sandwich to take away and it is one of the tastiest things I’ve ever eaten!!!

BEST VEGAN BREAKFAST IVE EVER HAD - Edit
This is probably the best vegan breakfast spots I have discovered in LA after living here for 19 years. The food and atmosphere and staff were absolutely amazing. I took my omni friend and he loved the food and place too. 10/10 coming back for sure. Orange juice was the best orange juice i’ve ever had also.

GREAT FOOD & GREAT SERVICE - Edit
I come to the Grain Cafe at least once every two weeks with my girlfriend and we always enjoy the service, the food and positive atmosphere. I usually get the breakfast burrito or the hot dog both are really delicious. There soups are great, there desserts and everything really on the menu has never been disappointing, they’re one of my favorite plant based spots I’ve been to thus far.

Cons: No cons, they’re extremely on point.

Pretty Good - Edit
Restaurant has a nice ambiance and the staff are friendly. I had the French Toast which tasted pretty thick. Maybe it's the bread they use, but it tasted more like pumpkin spice bread vs. traditional french toast. I would get something else next time. Ibalso had the pumpkin cheesecake which was a small portion for the expensive price. That was just okay tasting. I also jad the brownie cake which was hard and dry unfortunately. Also, for some odd reason there's a sign in the bathroom saying NOT to flush toilet paper in the toilet, and to put it in the trash instead. What!? That's soo gross! Why can't you flush toilet paper?? Lol

We ordered the pollo crepe, quesadilla with chicken, and the breakfast burrito. Everything was delicious! We're just sad we can only eat here once during our short stay in LA.

all vegan but mad inconsistent - Edit
Each time I go I’m all excited because I know I can eat everything but then 50% of the time I leave annoyed by how inconsistent and soggy the food is/was. Today I got the nachos with tempeh bacon ($3 extra) and it was like bland soup with a maybe ten bits tossed on top. Last time the order was about a third larger, chips with crunch instead of all soggy, pics de gayo style salsa with chunks instead of a sauce, lots of bacon, lots of cheese... it’s just so inconsistent and they’re oblivious.
Read moreSo in summary, the food here is like roulette; good luck.
Pros: all vegan, vast menu, coffee bar
Cons: inconsistent and bland, average oblivious service, soggy tasteless nachos

OMG!!! - Edit
I recently became vegan and have been struggling somewhat with finding eateries that align with my new lifestyle... The Grain Cafe hits everything on my checklist. It's less than two miles from my place. The ambiance is great. The food is so amazing! The prices are extremely affordable. The desserts!!! I have a lot of allergies (seafood, certain nuts). I was able to have a slice of carrot cake... Worry free for the first time ever!!! It tasted better than it looked and it looked awesome. This is OUR favorite restaurant... PERIOD!!!

The staff is Super friendly and are always very informative. I've been a happy customer since the day they opened and will continue to eat at The Grain.

Little gem in mid-city - Edit
Found this little gem in mid-city while I was out and about. I ordered the mole burrito to go while my boyfriend ordered a savory crepe. The prices were extremely reasonable because I felt that the portions were huge. I only managed to finish half the burrito in one sitting. 😂

Great food, every time! - Edit
I've been to this place a few times now and have gotten something different every time. Everything I've tried so far has been amazing! Their tofu scramble is probably the best I've had anywhere (so far). My girlfriend, who is not vegan or vegetarian, loved it! She said if every tofu scramble tasted like that, she'd never eat another egg again.
Read moreThe staff here is always super friendly. Never had any complaints about that. There's a small parking there, but the times I've gone, I've never had any issues with that.
The location is nice because you don't see many vegan spots in the south L.A. Area. We need more of these places to keep opening up.
Prices are average. It's definitely not extremely expensive. Which, I love, because people can be put off by overly priced vegan food. I'm referring to non-vegans here.
Overall, I have nothing bad to say about this place. It's one of the best places for some delicious, fully vegan food. 👍🏾👍🏾
Pros: Friendly staff, Great food
Cons: somewhat small parking

Hot vegan spot! - Edit
I love The Grain Cafe! I have eaten here for breakfast and lunch. I always end up taking something home also because it's so good! The food is delicious and flavorful. The Hawaiian Pizza is one of my favorites!! If you're really hungry, or share with someone, try the Fiesta Platter! It's a ton of food and so good! The breakfast options are also amazing. I have had the waffles and scrambled tofu, so good! Highly recommend this restaurant! The staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely a favorite spot of mine!
