Great choice, great food. - Edit
Despite my parents having lived just around the corner, literally, from this Chinese, until this week, we had never tried it. We did and we loved it - generous portions, great choices for vegetarians and vegans and freiendly staff. We took out but inside it is spotless and spacious. Will be ordering again for sure. Typical Chinese fare but done a bit better than average.

Hi! I think maybe you've got the Golden Mile restaurant mixed up with the Golden Well Chinese, which is just up the road from the Golden Mile Restaurant :)

Lovely food in lovely setting - Edit
They have a small changing vegan menu, but the food is great. We had the mushrooms on toast, nut loaf, curry and fondant for dessert. We watched the cows in the field outside as we ate. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommended!

Solid vegan options, superb quality - Edit
The Golden Mile has a small vegan offering but it as we all know, quality over quantity. Even with such few offerings, it easily deserves the most stars it can get.
Read moreFood is on par with some of the best fully vegan establishments I’ve dined in. I had jackfruit wings with a ‘facon’ jam and bbq drizzle. Coating was bursting with souther fried flavour, jackfruit slide off the ‘bone’ and the jam was sweet and savoury all at once. Divine. My wife had a bruschetta topped with tomatoes and breadcrumbs, which had a lovely snap to it.
Mains were a jackfruit burger for my wife, aubergine madras for me. Not often as a big chap I can’t finish a meal but the serving was huge so did end up leaving a third or so of it. 2 large onion bhajis and mango chutney were a nice side addition. Madras was packed with flavour - not too much heat either.
I have to give a special shout out though to the cheesy garlic bread side. Now I’m not a connoisseur by any means but I think I can safely say this is the best cheesy garlic bread (vegan or not) I have ever had. Will be making my way back for a lunch stop for a pint and some garlic bread, it’s that good!
Finally the staff are super friendly and accommodating. Our waitress had a good 10 min chat with us as she said they don’t get many vegan customers (which makes their menu offerings all the more impressive - apparently the jackfruit wings seldom sell) and said all the staff were looking at our food with a bit of envy! If you’re in the Bridgend area (or even further away, as it’s worth a bit of a trek) this place is a gem.
Pricing - ~£7 starters, ~£12 mains, ~£4 sides, ~£6 desserts.
Pros: Varied, if limited, vegan options, Excellent quality food, very reasonable pricing, Service with a smile from friendly staff
