Amazing find - almost fully vegan pub

This place is hidden away in a small village near Bakewell, but it has a huge choice of vegan options. The menu is mostly vegan or vegetarian. We tried the Hommity Pie and a seitan turkey sandwich which was a special, both were delicious. Wish I could give it 5 stars.

Pros: Good vegan options, Friendly staff , Good value

Little gem

Great little pub in a quaint little village just outside Bakewell. Most of menu is vegan or vegetarian and beers clearly labelled if vegan, of which most are. Couple running the place are vegan themselves and very informative and knowledgeable. Food was fantastic and very very reasonably priced. Most meals £6-£7. Traditional homely feel.

Pros: Run by vegans and many vegan options clearly label, Great range of vegan food and drinks. , Beautiful location and friendly knowledgable staff

Cons: Does have a few meat options. , Parking not great but manageable

Hidden Gem

Run by vegans, the menu has lots to offer. Food is homemade, tasty and fairly priced. Super friendly landlord and quirky interior. Set in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales.

I had homity pie and my partner had a banana blossom fish burger... 💚

Pros: Choice of options, Super tasty, home cooked food., Really friendly pub.

Wish I could give 5 stars!

Love it here! Staff are incredibly friendly, really good variety of vegan options (I can recommend the vegan fish finger sandwich). Traditional pub vibes and vegan beers are clearly marked. Situated right in the centre of the lovely village Stanton in Peak - a proper hidden gem!

Pros: Great food and drink, Friendly staff, Affordable

Little gem of a place

Went here for lunch (8 of us!) and absolutely loved it. Great choice of choice plant based food. Not often you get more PB options than ‘traditional’ fare. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and will definitely return!!

Pros: Mostly vegan menu!, Gorgeous, traditional Pub, Friendly, helpful staff

Unspoilt country pub

Situated on the corner of a junction with a small area for car parking opposite the pub this fabulous small unspoilt country pub has a surprising menu. Most of the menu is vegan!
One side of the pub is for adults only while the other accepts children and dogs. Although you don’t need to book it may be best to avoid the disappointment of not being able to secure a table if wanting to eat. They do have a seating area by the parking and you can order from your table using an app.
We had an enormous burger and the homity pie followed by chocolate cake and Icecream, plus sticky toffee pudding with cream. The food was fab. I also sampled one of the vegan beers and B had one of the vegan lagers, both on pump.
Really looking forward to visiting again.

5 star if Happycow would allow

We went here for lunch after a walk to Robin Hood's Stride. Great, cosy and dog friendly pub with loads of vegan options - I was spoilt for choice so much so the meat eaters in the group said "This is what the menu must feel like in a 'normal' restaurant for a vegan!" Would absolutely recommend and the smokey whiskey old fashioned is also recommended.

Pros: Lots of tasty vegan options, Cosy and welcoming, Dog friendly

Cons: Very small car park

Amazing vegan food

I couldn’t put 5 stars as happy cow wouldn’t let me as it’s not a 100% vegan pub. But that is purely because change can’t happen overnight in a very rural area. But these guys are trying and we must support them!

This is one of the best pubs in the Peak District for vegan food.

The owners are vegan and are trying to bring a more vegan menu on board which is hard in a very farmer heavy area.

We love their vegan food nights and they always put so much effort in to very tasty dishes.

If your looking for a vegan meal at a pub which also serves amazing beer look no further.

Just make sure to check when they are serving as they are a small business so their hours serving food are only on certain days

Great options

They do jackets and toasties with vegan cheese, their special was a roasted Mediterranean veg vegan ciabatta, they have vegan pasties too. Small but very friendly staff. Take dogs too, free dog treats and toys to borrow at the entrance. They did a vegan brownie and vegan salted caramel cake too, with vegan cream. Food delicious and quick service. Parking tricky

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Great food and service, Really friendly staff

Cons: Small, Parking tricky
