Favourite pizzeria - Edit
I love this place! Fully vegetarian and all the pizzas can be made vegan and/or GF. The menu contains so many great choices, and everything that I’ve tried so far has been delicious, with generous portion sizes and good value for money. I especially like the fact that I can go there with my mum (who is vegetarian and loves cheese) and we can both enjoy anything on the menu. I would recommend booking ahead as the restaurant is quite small.

Delicious pizza and dessert - Edit
We got the olive tree pizza with garlic oil. It was full of flavor and had the perfect crunch. It felt very light on the stomach for a pizza! The chocolate truffle selection was a delicious little dessert.

Rude and Arrogant owner - Edit
Owner rude and arrogant! And you can’t trust them and they won’t make your order right by just saying too busy to make it right!
Read moreI called in to make a booking but told no tables available but I could place an order for takeaway so I ordered two gluten free pizzas.
I also asked what size are the gluten free pizza crust and was told 11”. I was told I would need to wait 1 hour 30 minutes and I agreed. I ordered the Gluten free 11 “ crust as advised for one Olive Tree and one Garlicky .
When I arrived, I asked the person with the pizzas to confirm the gluten free pizzas. She looked a bit worried and said they were not gluten free. I asked the other girl if I would have to wait another 1.5 hrs and she said they would expedite my pizzas.
The owner came over and said he had two vegan pizzas for 8:30 pm and I said that is not what I ordered. He said he was too busy to remake the pizzas. He said the girl that took the order said she didn’t remember gluten free was ordered.
As a Celiac , those are the first words out of my mouth when I order any food and I also inquired the size of the gluten free crust and frequently they are pre-made and sealed and I was told they are 11”.
He would not remake the pizzas as he said he has to trust his staff. So he implies the customer are lying and uses it as an excuse to not make it right.
It doesn’t excuse not remaking the pizzas correctly as ordered gluten free as I was told a few minutes earlier.
I assured him I ordered both pizzas gluten free and my wife came in and also confirmed as she heard me place the order on the phone.
I realize this pizza must be well done and popular but not to remake the pizzas and imply me a liar and refusing to remake them is unprofessional.
I find his behavior arrogant, rude and unprofessional and just because he went to Italy to learn how to make pizza doesn’t make him a good owner and manager.
Hopefully, he won’t blow off this review but learn from it. Always make it right for your customers! And never insult your customers! It also suggest he doesn’t care about his customers because he is too busy.
He walks away and just repeats he has to trust his employees. Poor excuse for not making the pizzas as ordered!
Employees can make mistakes and as a Coeliac I will also double check as I did when I came to pick up the pizzas.
I would advise Coeliacs to not try these pizzas as you can’t trust them to make them to your order.
Peace be with you!

One of the best pizzas ever - Edit
I still think about this pizza, it was that delicious. The only complaint I have is how tiny this place is, it felt crowded.

Very tasty pizzas - Edit
This place was very busy when I arrived ( bookings are recommended ) but they made me a delicious takeaway. One thing I really appreciated was that when I asked them to leave the tomato out ( because I’m allergic to it) they offered me a choice of things I could add instead. Sometimes vegan pizzas can be a bit skimpy ( especially when you don’t eat tomato) but this was had lots of toppings and was delicious.

Delicious - Edit
On our way back to the Midlands we decided to give this place a go as it was on our way back to the parking lot. We had a regular 11" pizza, half truffle and half smoked. We also ordered the Garlic Focaccia with "Parmesan" and chilli. De-li-cious! Probably the best pizza I've ever had. The focaccia was a bit oily, but oh so decadent. Definitely worth dropping by if you are in the area.

Still delivers! - Edit
Many restaurants had to close due to covid19, but the Flat is still doing weekend (Friday-Sunday) evening deliveries. It is much welcomed especially because Flat’s pizza can not compete with any other in Exeter. Their vegan versions are superb, and quality to price ratio is not digging a hole in your pocket while providing amazing food.

Probably my favourite pizza I’ve eaten out - delicious pizza base with homemade vegan mozzarella. Amazing value for money as well! I had the margherita and added vegan sausage, an aperol spritz and we shared the chocolate truffles for dessert and only paid about £17 each. Definitely a new favourite!

Classy little pizza joint - Edit
We visited this wonderful establishment twice on our recent travels so have tried most of the menu. It is possible to have any pizza on the menu with vegan cheese. The flavour combinations are amazing with the 'Salty' being our favourite. The calzone was delicious but so, so rich that it's better to share between a few. A fine selection of wines and beers too plus friendly and helpful staff. The street it's on has some funky independent stores. I need to find a reason to visit Exeter again now!

Best pizza in Exeter - Edit
Cosy and beautiful location, really friendly staff. Every hand made wood fired pizza has a vegetarian option and a vegan option - there is no token vegan option on sight! They use a variety of vegan cheeses and it's the kind of place you could take a meat eater and blow their mind!

Because the food was epic! The best mushroom pasta I ever had!! Very flavourful but not too heavy. We also shared a pizza with raddichio and truffle oil, which was nice and crispy. The vegan chocolate truffles were a great cherry on top.
Incredible quality for this reasonable price!

Negroni heaven - Edit
Fantastic vegetarian Italian food that can be made vegan with no fuss ... my husband also asked for a cheese salad (not on the menu) which he was very impressed with and was produced with no bother. We were able to take our dog who was made a great fuss of & definitely wants to go back!! As for the drinks ..... the negronis are fabulous & everything is very reasonably priced. The service is excellent & staff very welcoming & friendly. Have been a couple of times and will definitely be going back regularly.
