Excellent vegan comfort foods and more - Edit
One of our favorite restaurants!
Read moreExcellent food, constantly one-upping specials, and we always feel so welcome even having wild small children with us.
On the regular menu, I'm hooked on the avocado "blt" sandwich with smoked tofu that has the perfect soft tofu texture with smoky, chewy outside, flavorful and perfectly ripe avocado, dressed up and on a fluffy bun.
Specials are always amazing and vary. I was skeptical about the variety at first - we've all experienced a restaurant over-reaching outside their specialty and just watering down or failing at completely different types of food. Not The Fix. Their people excel at everything!!
And they have soft serve ice cream! And a bakery case, coffee, kombucha, some merch and gifts... The building and area are awesome, too - next to an excellent print shop, across from a nonprofit bike collective, near some great tattoo, record, and artsy shops.
If I had the money and metabolism to indulge every day, I'd be there for every single meal.
Pros: Excellent food, 100% vegan plant-based, Great neighborhood

Perfect Poppers - Edit
Never in my entire life have I ever had better jalepeno poppers than these! It's like the difference between seeing the Superbowl parade on your cell phone at the bus station vs freezing your [censored] off on Grand Ave. AND getting a selfie with the Honey Badger! Go to The Fix and get educated on what a popper is. You'll be devastated because it turns out you've never actually eaten a good popper before - you just had low standards and THOUGHT they were good.

My Favorite Place - Edit
I love this place as it opened up in my neighborhood, so it’s easily walkable. It’s all plant based/vegan, so I can order anything with no worries. Dave is the super nice owner and has put his heart and soul into this place. The decor is beautiful and the food is delicious. I love the b’s and g’s, the portobello sandwich, the blt, bangers and mash, and I love their specials. There’s always something there that I’m aching to consume and it’s often hard to decide what to order.

Amazing Food, best place in KC - Edit
Best vegan place in KC. Biscuits and gravy are great. The best in the world cauliflower wings and french toast. The creme fraiche in the world. Best staff especially Dave. Kind, helpful, and always ready to make the meal the best.

Great options and very tasty - Edit
This was my first time trying The Fix and I really liked it. I went with my omni fiance because he likes trying vegan places with me. We both got the biscuits and gravy and the tofu & veggies in a wrap. At least that's how we ordered the tofu & veg but we just ended up getting it on a plate and not a wrap, not a big deal so we just ate/shared it 😊 The biscuits and gravy came with potatoes and I really want to know how they cook those potatoes because they were amazing!
Read moreThe food was really good, don't get me wrong, but the portions are on the small side for the price you pay. I am okay paying that price because of the convenience of a vegan restaurant but perhaps not a place I would frequent on the reg. Maybe the portions are bigger for the "lunch" items so I might try that next! We almost erroneously got a big plate of nachos that another table had ordered and the plate was huge, so I am hopeful lunch items are heartier.
Overall this is just an awesome place for exclusively vegan food, I don't have to ask how they cook their potatoes or if they're using this or that, or can they sub this for that like in a regular restaurant.
Pros: All vegan, Tasty food
Cons: Expensive, Smaller portions

Nice atmosphere and service but definitely overpriced - Edit
I like the post industrial decor and the kindness of everybody working there. My son enjoyed the pancakes.
Read moreThe tofu scramble though was very disappointing: for $12 we got half a plate filled with mostly potatoes (I counted literally 4 pieces of tofu and a few other veggies); $2 more got us 3 slices of avocados 🤷🏻♀️
For dessert we got a french apple tart, which was not super, but at least only $4
Pros: Great decor, good service
Cons: Overpriced, food so so
