Great for the area - Edit
Chinese restaurants are typically a dependable place to go for veg food in the middle of cottage country, but it was great to be able to sit down here and warm up after a day of cross-country skiing in the area, as many Chinese places there are sketchy at best.
Read moreThe staff was very accommodating. Our waitress talked to the chef, who checked the ingredients in the veggie burger and bun for us. Their burger is vegan but the ciabatta bread it comes on contains dairy, so I got it without ($10.99 w fries/salad).
My girlfriend ordered the bronzed tofu salad ($12.99), and it was GREAT! Spicy, filling and healthy, it was wok-fried with mushrooms, red pepper and onion and served on greens. Nothing else like it, even in the big city (Toronto).
The loveliest part was their selection of local microbrews on draft. What a godsend.
Only downside was the clientelle, who were mostly snowmobilers at that time of day/year, and who were loud and obnoxious. It's a family-friendly place otherwise.
I'll definitely be coming back.
Pros: in an area without much veg food, friendly, local draft beer
Cons: limited veg choices
