Great pizza and amazing service - Edit
Me and my friend shared the garlic pizza and the mozzarella pizza as well as some greens and beer battered chips. Pizza was really tasty and we loved the chips! All the wines were vegan also and the owner was super knowledgeable and welcoming! The vibe was really fun as it was a proper local establishment, would really recommend!

Fabulous dinner - Edit
We had arancini balls, pizza and rhubarb and apple crumble. All were fresh and tasty and didn't cost the earth. Also catered for Omni and helped us share meals. Some of the best vegan food I had in Hobart and Tassie. Owners are super friendly and helpful with the food options. Highly recommend.

So good! - Edit
Cannot recommend this pub more! The owners are so lovely, they made us feel so welcome and the vegan options were great. All options are clearly marked on the menu, my husband had the mushroom pizza and loved it- they make all their vegan cheese in-house! I had a pana cotta for dessert and that was also amazing.

Highly recommended - Edit
I’ve eaten here over the last two nights and both have been fantastic. They have a number of vegan options for starters, mains, pizzas and desserts. I had the paella, mushroom risotto, panna cotta and apple crumble and would recommend them all. The risotto was incredible... The manager knows which wines are vegan and has made an effort to have a selection available. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. It’s a bit on the pricey side but not outrageously so. I would rate as a 5 star if that was an option for non-veg restaurants.

Lovely! - Edit
The place was very vegan friendly, had lovely staff and also got to enjoy some live music while I ate! I got the Paella and Pinna Cotta dessert and was very tasty. Once I had my vegan main I asked for the dessert menu they assured me there was vegan options for me! They made me feel very welcomed in a omni place!

Nice pub meal - Edit
I went to The Duke with relatives, after a bit of indecision, and it was a decent choice.
Read moreThe atmosphere was nice. There was a jazz night on, which was nice, but it did make it difficult to hear the conversation at our table.
The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about vegan diets, and quite accommodating to what was a rather large list of requests from my table. I was impressed to see an old-style pub with such a good selection of vegan meals.
My partner and I shared a couple of pizzas and a bowl of chips, which was quite a lot of food. The meals we had were quite reasonably priced, but most of the meals were substantially more expensive (more than I would ordinarily want to pay, but I wasn't paying). I enjoyed everything greatly, but my (non-vegan) partner did not like the taste of the vegan cheese.
Overall, The Duke is well worth a visit, but approach the vegan cheese they have tentatively, especially if you intend to feed it to non-vegans.
Pros: Plenty of vegan options, Good location
Cons: A little pricey, Vegan cheese wasn't to everyone's liking

Very vegan friendly - Edit
Very vegan friendly. Went there fo r my birthday and there were 4 pizza options, dips, paella, a special tofu dish and 2 dessert options on menu. All delicious....we swapped and tasted. Fantastic music as well. The owner is on the floor and chats, a rarity these days. Great selections of wine and spirits too.
