Splendid!! - Edit
Having walked through the awful weather, it was amazing to walk through the door and be met by Louby - who must be the friendliest person ever working in a pub.
Read moreThe pleasure continued when I saw the menu which had several vegan options and a few items which could be adapted. Perfect!
AND a vegan apple crumble too!
A memorable trip. Thank you The Druid Inn. #Veganuary
Pros: The welcome, Vegan options, Vegan pudding
Cons: Too far from home 😏

Don't bother - Edit
Decided to give them another chance after previous not-so-great meals here, hoping they'd improved or that I'd happened to previously catch them on off days. Turned out to be the most disappointing meal I've had in ages.
Read moreWas actively offered a vegan-version of the veggie burger. This turned out to be a burger in a slice of dry bread, a single leaf of lettuce, single slice of tomato and a gherkin with a side of McDonald's-style fries .... So no vegan cheese, no vegan coleslaw, no vegan burger bun (&no warning or explanation that this would be the case) - but all for the same price of £15:95!
Can't believe they had the gall to serve it.
Also a warning that 'meatless roast' doesn't mean a non-meat roast option, it is just veg and a single Yorkshire pudding.
Go to The Flying Childers instead!
Pros: It was vegan, Some of the staff are nice
Cons: Price, 'Vegan-version just meant paying the same for less

not too bad! - Edit
came on a monday evening so the menu was reduced. because of this, maybe, there was only one vegan option (a curry) but it was delicious and the staff were very friendly. overall nice atmosphere with board games to play (near the fireplace). i enjoyed it!

Pros: lovely staff, tries to accommodate vegans, fairly nice location (near nine ladies)
Cons: most of the menu was meat , no vegan desserts (other than sorbet), still limited options for vegans

lovely country pub! - Edit
Very friendly and welcoming staff, varied menu with obvious effort made to provide more than the usual basic vegan options in this part of the country. Wellington was delicious, chocolate dessert was sadly sold out! Otherwise had a mushroom burger, sandwiches etc. Great place.

We used to love this place but be warned it has changed hands and - according to the menu on the new web site - it has lost its old charm and become an expensive meat focused bistro with just one veggie main. We haven't been since the change - it doesn't appeal - but if we do I'll add a review.
