Tiny shop in Makawao town center providing loose herbs and herbal teas, nutritional supplements, homeopathic remedies, crystals, and gifts. Location is slightly in a short alley off Baldwin Ave, in the back, so look for it or you will miss it. A small set of stairs leads up to the store. Not wheelchair accessible. Open Mon-Sat 10:00am-5:00pm.

The Best Herbs on Maui

There are great health food stores on Maui, but none carry as fine quality herbs and medicinal ingredients as Dragon's Den. They carry Mountain Rose herbs, flowers, and blends along with really great TCM ingredients, salves, supplements, and sweet gifts. They also usually have a pot of hot tea going to nourish visitors (I'm a regular). All the girls/ladies have a great personality, are extremely knowledgeable, and are dedicated students of herbalism. So glad we have them on our tiny island! They've also recently added a sweet spot for seating (barstools) right outside.

Pros: Best quality herbs, nourishing herbal teas and beverages, best TCM ingredients, salves, EO's

Cons: parking can be tricky during lunch, Can be hard to find if you don't know where it is , If they are out of something, you may have to wait

Little herbs & supplement shop

I had read about this place on happycow and have stopped in on two occasions. Was just here in December 2012, and here's my The Dragon's Den Herb Shop review update.

It's a tiny little shop tucked away in a little alley just off on the the 2 main roads in Makawao town center. An array of health supplements, natural health products, and homeopathic remedies stand on shelves up the walls, and behind the main counter/register is an assortment of loose herbs and tea leaves in glass jars for sale by weight. The owner sometimes manages the store and is there to help with creating herbal formulas and answer questions.

There's no food or fresh produce. The entrance is not on the main street but off to the side, so you have to look for it.
