Really lovely pancakes

Visited after reading some really good happy cow reviews so booked online which I would recomend as they were turning people away it was that busy. When i booked I told the staff about dairy allergy (part of the reason I eat vegan food) and they were amazing. Really helpful with pointing out vegan options and were extra careful to make sure I knew what was vegan when they brought it. I had a coffee with oat milk and the apple crumble pancakes which were really lovely. Would recommend!! There was also a vegan breakfast and a biscoff pancake stack which looked really good too!

Pros: Lovely pancakes , Reasonably priced, Really helpful staff

Frustrated and disappointed

Visited recently for a birthday meal, but unfortunately left frustrated and disappointed.

My wife got the biscoff pancakes, whilst I got the vegan breakfast. The toppings on the pancakes and the theatre of the syringe were excellent, but the pancakes were chewy. I did enjoy the breakfast though, with the hashbrowns a particular highlight. Good coffee too.

Vegan options are few, with only a breakfast and two pancake flavours available. We were also unable to get the mini kids breakfast for our young son, instead having to assemble our own from the limited sides options, which came to £9 for just 3 items and £2 more expensive than the meat eaters mini breakfast.

We vented our frustration to staff, but were told set menu options cannot be altered, which was very disappointing. We won't be back.

Cons: Limited options

Breakfast place, from morn to mid-afternoon

This place, located next to the university, offers breakfast all day long. It does not have a separate vegan menu—just two items, a vegan English breakfast and vegan pancakes. But that is enough—after all, you’re coming here for breakfast.

I had the vegan breakfast—beans, mushrooms, tomato, toast, scrambled avocados, sausage, hash browns, plus oat cappuccino. This gave me a chance to experience a English type breakfast, and I like everything. The price are good; it was more than filling (I couldn’t finish my meal), and they told me that the cooks were careful to avoid cross contamination.

BW, the “science” part comes from the decorative elements. For instance, syrup comes in “syringes,” some of the drinks come in “test tubes,” etc.

fab !!

The food was so delicious and everything was presented in a fun, quirky way inspired by science. They had a page in their menu for vegan’s which made ordering so much easier. The pancakes were too much for me but I asked for a little box to take what I had left home in to eat for breakfast the next day and it tasted just as good, decently priced for what it is (£7.50 for pancakes) and glad I didn’t waste any food.😄
