A poor experience - Edit
After reading the May 3 2024 review by "melsoy", I thought this would be a great place for dinner after touring the Vanderbilt Museum earlier in the day.
Read moreMuch to my dismay, when I asked our server to check with the chef what vegan options they could offer besides the "vegetable dish" entree on the menu for $28, he came back and said that was the only option.
He said salads could be made vegan too by taking away all the "animal" products. There were no protein options at all. We felt like we inconvenienced our server, and from hearing what he said the chef's offers were, we were so disappointed we told him we didn't want to stay.
The other review said there was a great mushroom pate, but he said that was a very old menu item and was no longer available.
To our delight, he told us the bottle of Pellegrino we had ordered would be on the house. That was so nice given our first impressions.
All this turned out to our benefit, because just down the street we decided to dine at "Ristorante Lucia" and this place absolutely knocked it out of the park for us!!! 12/10 in all areas!! Read my review under that restaurant.
Pros: Free bottle of Pellegrino
Cons: Only vegan option was $28, no protein, just veg, Disengaged hotel staff greeting you upon entry

Very accommodating - Edit
I called ahead to ask if they could accommodate two vegans & they ensured me they could. Upon arriving I was surprised to see a vegan entree already listed on the menu. After asking my server if there was anything else we could substitute on the menu to make vegan, they gave a full list of great options! They then even talked to chef who prepared us several dishes from scratch (not on the menu) to ensure we had great vegan options. Everything was super plant based, on the healthier side, and great!!! I would totally recommend & go back.

Extravagant Dining - Edit
We joined a group of friends to dinner at the Vanderbilt Hotel in town for our friend Katie’s birthday.
Read moreI didn’t scan the online menu ahead of time so I thought I would be resorting to a salad for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised with the vegan options.
The Mushroom Pate was an excellent starter to the meal. So much so that our non-vegan friends were raving about it as well. Downfall was there wasn’t enough brioche to go with it.
The menu describes an English Split Pea Soup with Parmesan. I got the soup without it, which was a great decision as it was nice for the first course.
Husband and I shared the Roasted Cauliflower, which was presented in four-five steaks seasoned with Garam Masala and served on a cashew purée. Probably the best cauliflower steak I’ve had.
On a side note: although a bit pricey two friends ordered the Vanderbilt Martini and spoke highly of it too. 🍸
Pros: Vegan options , Nice setting , Great dining experience
Cons: Need more vegan options
