Nice Indian food

We visited on a night where only Indian food was available.

Vegan options were on the normal menu and were limited but ok, I chose onion baji (which unfortunately came with a creamy mint sauce that I didn't touch) and a chickpea curry main. Both courses were really tasty although less chickpeas and some added veg would have been nice in the main dish. Didn't have a dessert as starter and main were more than enough.

Staff were really pleasant & helpful, checking with the chef what was and wasn't vegan for me.

Omni partner had fish pakora & chicken jalfrezi which he said were really good.

We're passing through so not likely to be back any time soon, but would consider eating here again.

Pros: Onion baji was particularly nice, Staff were lovely & helpful

Cons: Side salad was plain iceberg with no dressing

So much cheese!

Absolutely lovely little place with plenty of vegan options so we came back twice during our stay.
The first time we both had pizza- my husband had the BBQ 'chicken' and I had a vegetable one from the veggie menu with vegan cheese - both delicious with such a generous portion of cheese and other toppings.

After a disappointing meal elsewhere we decided to come back on our last evening. We both had the burger and shared nachos to start - both were delicious. There was a vegan sticky toffee pudding but we were too full for dessert!

Staff were lovely and welcoming. Dogs are allowed in the bar area and we're offered a bowl of water

Pros: loads of vegan options , generous with the cheese, dogs allowed

Cons: none it was the best place we ate

Pub Grub

Good sized portions with a decent amount of flavour. Enjoyable evening meal when the choices in the area are slim.

Good place in Stornoway for vegan food

Note: We ate here in September when local Covid restrictions allowed. It's best to check their website to see what's going on now.

The staff here understand veganism and take it seriously. We were able to have quite a varied amount of food - I had a vegan pizza with vegetables (loads of vegan mozzarella, so really tasty) and my wife had the salad and garlic bread (not vegan). We also shared the loaded fries - vegan mozzarella, garlic mayo (vegan) and crispy onions. So delicious and we couldn't finish the whole portion (took it home for later) and we have massive appetites. This place also made us feel super welcome when not many places were open (Monday out of season during Covid). They also took Covid rules very seriously and we felt safe there. We could have had an alcoholic drink (they had some good ales, loads of Scottish whiskies and some wines) but it was lunchtime so we went for some nice herbal teas.

Pros: Friendly staff who understand veganism, Flexible chef (put mozzarella on our loaded fries), Delicious food

Cons: Looks awful from the outside - but it isn't!
