Expensive but worth it - Edit
There’s a separate menu for vegans but it wasn’t on display and you have to ask for it - which is a shame - as we may not have ended up going. Staff were friendly and attentive. The tempura veg were delicious as was the mushroom casserole. The latter had a really good combination of flavours. It’s a bit on the pricey side but quality is good and service charge isn’t included unless you want to add it.

Great vegan food with separate menu - Edit
The Crown has a separate vegan menu, I had a three course meal from it and all courses were incredible. I'd highly recommend it if you're in the area looking for a nice sit down meal.

Separate vegan menu - Edit
We ordered both starters available and both mains available. Asparagus soup was divine also came with bread and vegan spread. Tempura veg was also delicious with a sweet chilli sauce. Mains were nice and I loved the vegan cheese fritters

Lovely 3 course meal had - Edit
I joined my partners omni family here. They had pre-warned I’m vegan with dairy allergy and the immediately handed the days vegan menu to his parents for me. When we got there menu had been revised and options added. I briefly remember from before they change the menu so it’s seasonal and dependant in what they have in/can order. This is one of the only times I’ve ever had a three course meal and enjoyed it.
Read moreI had tempura veg with salad and sweet chilli sauce for starter. Dried parsnip, chilli tomato and rocket risotto which had tempura broccoli with it which was lovely and a huge bowl! Dessert was lovely a sort of cheese cake however you needed a chainsaw to initially break it into pieces that you could eat. Over all beautiful meal and will definitely visit in the future.
Pros: Vegan menu , Seasonal and changes regularly , Dog friendly
Cons: They genuinely need to know you’re coming , Slightly expensive

Great little find - Edit
an unexpected find tucked in its beautiful Georgian Square and offering tasty and imaginative options of vegan dishes in their full menu. Dog friendly in the bar or a sunny quiet terrace to enjoy.

Expensive and disappointing - Edit
The best thing about this place is they have a vegan menu. Not sure I would recommend ordering from it however. The words did not equate to the food imagined. My tempura was oily, not very tasty with some of the vegetables hard and undercooked. The mushroom main should have been a glorious mushroom experience (especially for the price £15 ) instead it was a boring, greasy warm salad with some lacklustre sliced brown mushrooms and other interesting mushrooms that (had they been cooked nicely) could have had potential. A pretty expensive meal out and I had a pretty miserable face at the end of it. Needs to do better, they really let themselves down. Such a pity as this area desperately needs good vegan options.

Great food and the dogs were welcome - Edit
We didn't book so we were very lucky to get a table. They hand wrote a vegan menu for us with several options. We had leek and potato soup to start and gnocchi for main. Not cheap but fantastic quality and attention to detail.

the restaurant/hotel welcomes dogs and their veggie sausages are vegan so you can have a vegan fry up breakfast!!! they also provide other vegan options at lunch/dinner (good idea to ring up beforehand) such as tempura vegetables, soup, salad and risotto.
