Cosy breakfast? Go to Prana Cafe … - Edit
Disappointing …
Read moreStaff - Having pondered the menu and made a choice I went to the bar to order the golden glow smoothie. I was told they didn’t have it available. Madly, the bar doesn’t have a menu! So having returned to my table, chosen again and returned, I was then told the morning greens smoothie wasn’t on either. Before returning I asked if any smoothies were available and after she punched the keys a few times I got a “ohh no sorry, seems we don’t have the stuff to make smoothies”. Clueless and you’d have thought the waitress would have told me this when she handed me my menu and asked if I had any allergies! But alas, I observed the same sketch with a family of 6. Staff do not communicate at all and they’re pretty inept.
Place - A nice lazy Sunday morning place with a nice vibe, where 3 of the 12 breakfast options are vegan - vegan sausage brioche bun, smashed avocado and their vegan garden breakfast …
Food - Vegan Garden Breakfast £10.50. Scrambled turmeric tofu, harissa beans, avocado, vine tomatoes, mushroom, spinach, toasted sourdough with vegan butter. It was nice but it wasn’t scrambled tofu at all - it was turmeric on cubes of tofu which were grilled so the edges were hard and crispy. The harissa beans were simply a ramekin of beans with harissa oil on top which made it oily failing to impart any harissa flavour. All in all, nice but don’t expect what’s written on the menu!
Tea £2.55. Nice but having to pay an additional 45p for oat milk over soya! £3 … Really?
Would I return? Probably not because there are better places with better service and I’m likely to get what’s on offer.
Would I recommend? I’d recommend Prana Cafe as they do a better vegan breakfast with more choices and the most fantastic selection of teas. #Veganuary

My go-to all day brunch in Leicester - Edit
Cosy club menus are marked clearly with veg and vegan options and on occasion, staff have been open to swaps in order to make an option fully vegan. Staff are always friendly. Good food and good tea which is a plus!

Lovely, friendly waitress, great vegan breakfast with quite an extensive vegan menu. Service was quick and the Bloody Mary was probably a 7/10.

Couldn’t even get 4 breakfasts - Edit
AVOID. They couldn’t even get 4 breakfasts out at the same time. We’d all finished by the time the last one arrived. All 4 breakfasts had different things on them. Served coffee with milk in instead of oat milk which took them (this is no exaggeration) 20 minutes to make. Probably the worst place I’ve ever been.

Vintage furniture, friendly staff and good food - Edit
The Cosy Club is quite a large restaurant but indeed felt quite cosy nonetheless. It was rather quiet when we visited but I can imagine it being a bit noisy when crowded.
Read moreThe staff were friendly and correct all evening. We were asked if we wanted the vegan/gluten free menus on being seated.
Although they serve meat and fish there is quite a large and diverse selection of vegetarian/vegan dishes. The meals themselves were absolutely fine and the shared desert was perfectly proportioned. Just couldn't fault the food at all. They have a nice seating area with couches where we enjoyed a cup of coffee after dessert.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Friendly and correct staff, Nicely decorated
Cons: Might be noisy when crowded

disappointing and dry breakfast - Edit
The restaurant is a large, airy space with trendy upcycled furniture and art. There is a vegan menu. It has the same menu as the Seco Lounge in Plymouth and the Visto Lounge in Torquay, so we are presuming it is part of the Loungers chain.
Read moreWe went for a Sunday morning breakfast as we were staying in the travelodge next door, ordering the vegan cooked breakfast and the vegan avocado brunch.
The cooked breakfast was a good size portion, but a little dry. The avocado brunch was a very small portion with dry underripe avocado and tomato diced on to a slice of French bread. No flavour. I asked for some olive oil to go on the avocado. I was given some clear, tasteless oil with a dash of balsamic vinegar in a little dish. Even though the restaurant was almost empty, it was very difficult to flag down the waitress, who never once asked us how was the food?
We were in a hurry, so paid and left, realising that they had charged £1 for the oil. Really? We would not go back.
Pros: Vegan menu, nice decor
Cons: dry & tasteless food, lack of service

Worth it just for the breakfast! - Edit
During a recent trip to Leicester which lasted 4 days we visited The Cosy Club twice, both times for breakfast!
Read moreIt's got to be one of the best vegan breakfasts I've had. While it wasn't your bog-standard full English, with its amazing roasted peppers and warm hummus, it still had all the classics like a big field mushroom, grilled tomatoes, fried potatoes, beans (which were served in cute little ramekins, which suited my boyfriend as he doesn't like beans spreading all over the plate) and good quality sourdough toast. At first I was doubtful of the warm hummus, as I'm not a huge fan of hummus anyway, but I was wrong - it really works!
The setting was great too. They've really gone to town on the décor, and we liked the fact that it appeared to be a converted sewing factory, retaining some of the original features like the old-fashioned ceiling lamps. I can't say it was that 'cosy' as it was so big in there but that's by the by.
I appreciated that they have a separate vegan menu which you can ask for, and I believe they do a gluten-free menu as well.
Pros: That breakfast!, Friendly, helpful staff, Vegan menu

I added this listing to happy cow because I was so so pleased at seeing s vegan menu. I have only been for breakfast so far but it was huge and only £6. The remainder of the menu looks superb. They also have loads of vegetarian dishes on the main menu
