Questionable ethics

Look into The Twelve Tribes who own this franchise and think about if you want to support women and child abuse

Great place

Place is awesome they are super accommodating and friendly. They have a whole smoothie bar just make sure to tell them no honey or substitute milk because some of the smoothies they use non-vegan ingredients.

Interesting Decor

Interesting place with some beautiful decor. I was kind of disappointed to only see a hummus wrap as a vegan option. It was good, but would have liked to see more to pick from. There is also a religious group associated with the place.

Pros: Beautiful decor, Nice staff

Cons: Not very many options for vegans

good for lunch

I had a nice hummus wrap here. They also sell vegan cookies and use almond milk for coffee and smoothies.

Pros: atmosphere , vegan items are labeled

Fair

I ate lunch at Common Ground with colleagues who love the place and frequent it often. I had a similar experience to those shared in the other reviews- there was not much on the menu that could be vegan, the choices were pretty generic (like the hummus with tortilla chis from a bag), and there were not compelling substitutions for veganizing options. I ordered the tofu wrap, subbed a side salad for the chips, and added a side of hummus. It was a ton of food so I took half away. The wrap had no kind of sauce, dressing or moisture, but everything was "fine".

I read the literature at the cafe about the Twelve Tribes of Israel, within which Common Ground belongs, and gathered more information from the internet and community, and that information will influence my choice about future frequenting of Common Ground.

Pros: House smoked tofu and hummus for protein, Popular place, Funky cafe space

Cons: A few generic vegan options

Nice Place

They must have added more vegan options since the last review. I had the Greek Wrap with Tofu instead of feta and it was delicious. My husband had the Prince Wrap which also had Tofu. They also list a vegan hummus Wrap. They don't have any vegan sandwiches listed, but the menu states that you can substitute Tofu for any meat in their sandwiches. They bake their Tofu with onion, garlic and soy sauce so it is very tasty.

Pros: reasonably priced, friendly staff

super salty tofu wrap - I like salty!

They have only a few vegan options. Odd for a cafe & juice bar. A PB&J and tofu wrap. The wrap was good, my friend thought the tofu was cheese at first because it was so salty. I liked it. They also have vegan oatmeal raisin cookies, Good, not spectacular. The inside is eclectic with wood seats but not appealing as the are covered with pieces of leather. They have some tables outside but no license to serve outside. In a pinch is grab the tofu wrap to go but I would not go out of my way to eat here.

not So Common Ground

High hopes for a vegan meal dashed unless you are a) a 5 year old anticipating a delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwich, b) your all time favorite salad dressing is oil and vinegar because ALL their dressings have honey, c) are seeking out hummus and chips instead of grabbing some from the 7-11 next door. Why high hopes? They put themselves out there as a whole/wholesome eatery but it's just a beautiful Keebler Elf motif excuse for a common deli. Better odds of finding a vegan meal at a Brazilian Steakhouse ... Or any restaurant with a chef. Shouldn't even be listed in Happy Cow.

Pros: interesting motif, peek and go

Cons: 3 vegan afterthought menu items.

Great place to relax and eat

The have wifi if you want to eat alone and surf the web. They offer an amazing atmosphere, great food, nice people. Never in a rush, never angry. Lots of veggie options. It's a really nice place.

Pros: food, people, atmosphere

Cons: not open on weekend, needs more tofu dishes, sometimes slow
