Great cafe and grocery store - Edit
Love the sandwiches here, always so tasty and fresh! How’s a ton of niche products you can’t find anywhere else in Erie in the grocery section.

Best plant-based breakfast wrap - Edit
The breakfast wrap was so flavorful and filling! It's hard to find vegan breakfast items that really meet expectations, but I would order this over and over. I hope to try some of the other wraps and sandwiches!
Read morePros: Lots of plant-based options/substitutes, Quick and convenient, Inside the food co-op which was also great!

The cafe is real good - Edit
Has changed and expanded over the years, but still have the in house classics, like the lentil walnut burger and cashew cheese.

Delicious Cafe! - Edit
All cafe options can be made vegan and gluten-free. I had the Downtown Wok, which cured my tofu craving with sweet soy ginger glaze and a little bit of heat. The rest of my family had GF Lawn Boy, vegan toasted cheese, Nad an off-the menu sandwich. All were delicious and fresh! Highly recommend!

Don’t Miss The Twilight Zone Wrap! - Edit
Gotta love both the Erie Food Co-op and the Co-op Cafe! Loads of vegan options, fresh ingredients, and friendly service. Their lentil-walnut burger (which is at the heart of their spectacular Twilight Zone Wrap) is pure genius, as are their Bourbon BBQ Seitan Wings.

Great food prepared with care - Edit
My husband and I make it a point to stop in here. Though it is not fully vegan, anything can be made vegan and GF, as a matter of fact. The house-made cashew cheese on wraps and sandwiches is really good. The quality of ingredients overall is top shelf. The nicest thing is that when we get our food from the Order Up counter and take it to our seats, the discerning tongue can tell that it's made with care, as if the preparer was making it to eat it him/herself.
Read moreBy chance, we had a conversation with what turned out to be the café "boss" and it was a delightful, honest exchange, which ended in my husband having a very big foodie conversation with Jess about broccoli waffles and other things, such as whipped aquafaba as a binder in certain recipes, all to the delight of both of them.
We seldom eat out, but when we are visiting Erie, we will reserve at least one meal to have at the Co-op Café.
Pros: Very good food for café selections, Freshness of ingredients, Decent portion size
Cons: Once, the coffee was luke warm, other times not so

Many vegan options - Edit
As others have mentioned, their Buffalo Tempeh Wrap is my go to - so good! Two vegan cheese options: homemade cashew cheese or Daiya shreds. Pretty much anything on their menu has a vegan option. The serving sizes aren’t huge but they are healthy and usually taste great. The grab and go usually has vegan options and there are always grab and go bakery items like vegan donuts and cookies. You can also custom order vegan cakes and cupcakes from their bakery.

Tastiest Tempeh Wrap Ever - Edit
I took the suggestion of another reviewer and ordered the Lugosi wrap and was actually blown away by how tasty it was. It’s not every day that I eat vegan food and wonder wow is this really vegan?? It was just unbelievably delicious! The tempeh was marinated which I think is the key part here, not just seasoned but thoroughly marinated which brought so much flavor to the wrap. Also ordered a juice which I feel was a bit costly for the amount of juice given but I drank it up anyway. All in all very delicious foods offered and there is the option to veganize just about every wrap they have. There was even a vegan cinnamon roll there but I resisted the temptation to go to the dark side.

Go To Cafe - Edit
We travel to Presque Isle at least once a year and this Cafe quickly became a staple in our travel plans. We have breakfast, lunch and many times dinner (all in the same day) and pick up supplies at the grocer. At first we were just vegan, but then had to go gluten-free as well, and the cafe has not disappointed! Great food, great people, great environment!

pretty good - lots of vegan options - Edit
Came twice while driving through. First time I got the vegan pizza with daiya cheese and peppers. The crust was pre made so it didn't really taste home made, but it was decent.
Read moreThe other thing I tried was a tofurkey club with tempeh bacon, tomato, cashew cheese, lettuce, and veganaise. It tasted very good. My only suggestion would be to ask them to toast it because it was hard to eat with the bread soft.

Amazing compliment to the Co-op - Edit
The Whole Foods Co-op within which resides Fresh Horizon's Cafe and the Cafe itself were among the vegetarian-specific highlights of my recent travels through the United States.
Read moreFresh Horizon's offers an impressive, and delicious, assortment of smoothies, sandwiches, wraps, deserts, and more, each made on-site, at very reasonable prices. Each among our party of three were very pleased with all that we consumed (each having ordered something entirely different).
Seating can be a bit hard to come by if you are here during the lunch rush but it would seem as though taking extra chairs and squeezing them in at one table would always be a possibility.
I really appreciated their variety of options for smoothies, not just limited to fruit/vegetable/superfood components but for the smoothie base (soy, almond, rice, coconut milk, etc.)
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Considering its very modest size, and it being situated inside a fantastic Whole Foods Co-op (worth a stop alone for some oatmeal soap!), this is an excellent cafe that fully exceeded my expectations.
Pros: Very good food, Choice, Smoothies
Cons: Seating a bit limited when busy

Yummm - Edit
Nice find for a vegan on a cross-country trip. I eat mostly raw, but found the Tempeh Rueben and the TLT (tempeh) very yummm and very nice on the tummm. Everyone was very nice (store and cafe). Reasonably priced. Call the number to be reminded it is behind the dental clinic.
