On the weekend (only) it offers a lunch buffet & salad bar--its small but the quality if good and there are a few cooked veggie items. The regular menu is typical non-veg Tex-Mex and fried seafood fare for the area. Reported closed July 2020.

Very accommodating to Vegetarians

My husband and I were visiting South Padre Island and were craving authentic Mexican fare. I found The Chef House on here and had to go check it out. So very happy that we did. The food was amazing!!! Just a note for: their beans are refried in vegetable oil, not lard like most other places in the area. Our lady Esmy was so sweet and kind. Love the vibe, simple place with amazing food

A gem for Port Isabel

Nice little salad bar and buffet available (on weekends only). Good prices and a little more upscale looking than the other Tex-Mex restaurants in the area. Popular with the locals. The owner/chef takes pride in his little place. Nice atmosphere, very clean restrooms, and pleasant service.
