Surprisingly good range of choices - Edit
At first we were nervous because the entrées themselves are overwhelmingly meat-centric, but we realized there are quite a few vegan options in the Small Plates, and the salads are vegan by default as of this review, as is the house made focaccia (and olive oil of course!). They also have an entire house vegan cheese plate which was so fun to try! I appreciate how well the menu is labeled; it's very clear what's vegan and what's just vegetarian, as well as when a vegan substitution can be made. My mom had the Flatbread made vegan, and despite being a small plate it was actually large enough for my husband and I to have some slices as well. I got the Sope with tempeh, which was small but when had with everything else we were sharing, I was still full. My husband enjoyed the house salad with smoked tofu. I am really impressed with all the vegan offerings despite being a non vegan establishment!

Date night - Edit
This beautiful restaurant is romantic and stylish and was recommended by innkeepers at the Black Sheep Inn, another great idea from them. We only sat at the bar but were beyond exited to discover that they make their own gourmet plant-based cheese IN HOUSE, so we treated ourselves to their decadent cheese board. I cannot see any omni even knowing the difference given the quality and texture. There were also vegan meat empanadas, something I get every chance I can. Excellent wine recommendations too. I was able to try a wine (Hermann J. Weimer) from a Finger Lakes winery I had not been able to make it to -- the bartender knew his wines. We will be back when in Corning again. We do try to stick to all-vegan when we can and found this place worthwhile and will be excited to try their other options.

Another wonderful meal - Edit
Another phenomenal evening of numerous tapas appetizers. The vegan cheese board is beyond excellent. Took a non vegan person there who made it clear they didn’t like vegan cheese and they were blown away saying there was no possible way it was vegan cheese 🤣 and they thought it was better than cow cheese.

Delicious GF and vegan food & vegan cheese board! - Edit
The vegan cheese board was amazing. Sweet potato side had way too much oil. Market vegetable kabob entree (with quinoa dolma!) and coconut milk vegan ice cream were both excellent. My friend who is not vegan enjoyed her meal as well.
Read moreBeautiful decor, including some glass art pieces. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Expensive but absolutely worth it.

Very good - Edit
Had the vegan cheese plate and the vegetarian entree, which ended up being vegan (with honey) which I eat. So I got to enjoy it as intended. Very tasty!

Vegan Cheese Plank - Edit
Delicious Vegan Options in an Upscale Restaurant. This is a must if you are in town!! All menu options are amazing!! But yeah… it’s very pricy. We think it’s worth it.. but no more than 3 times a year.. 😁
Read moreThe Vegan Cheese Plank is a must. $35 for a large but you won’t be disappointed. Incredible flavors and options.
The cocktail and wine menus are extensive.. and you guessed it.. expensive. Again though.. very unique and delicious. Save yourself some money and order to go. Same great options.. and you won’t be tempted by the unique cocktails.
Pros: Incredible Homemade Vegan cheese!!

One of my favorites - Edit
My friend and I have dinner dates every few weeks and she always makes sure where we go they have vegan options because she knows I’m an eater and can’t just have a salad (she’s an awesome friend). This is one of our favorite places to go, the vegan cheese board is soooo gooooood! It’s expensive but welll worth it.

So delicious - treat yourself and go! - Edit
Never have I ever been disappointed when I go to The Cellar. Their vegan options are outstanding to say the least. From appetizers to salads to entrees and all the vegan cheese in between. They have items that can also be made vegan quite easily which makes trying something new a fun palatable adventure! The Ancient Grain entree is by far my favorite that I have had thus far (and I have had everything). You can even get half portions if you fancy a smaller meal or half of two options. GF available as well. The menu will rotate with the seasons and what is locally sourced at the time so you never get bored. I can’t say enough good things so my recommendation, go and enjoy for yourself! Cheers

Numerous vegan options from appetizer to entree to dessert. All were made as vegan versus having to be adapted. Upscale, but casual bar setting. Great service.

NYE deliciousness - Edit
We made reservations for NYE here, knowing it was really one of the only places who would accommodate vegans. They did not disappoint! Their menu is filled with vegan/veggie options!
Read moreI like their entrees as you can order half portions of them and try multiple. I started with vegan pumpkin ravioli, got a side of kale sweet potato hash, and finished with a "scallop" dish which I subbed tofu. All of the food was flavorful and cooked to perfection!
For dessert I was pleased to find they had more than one option. I went with the vegan sweet potato creme brûlée. It was to die for! They also offer almond milk for your coffee. All around a great experience. It was a relief to be able to eat true vegan meals rathe than modifying things and settling for a side.
Pros: knowledgeable staff, multiple options to choose from, well prepared dishes
Cons: On the pricier side

Impressive - Edit
This place had so many vegan options, that we got way too much food trying them all. The tree-nut cheese plate was fantastic. There was also gnocchi, roasted brussels sprouts, and wontons/gyoza, and something else I can't remember? The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating, she told us one of the cooks is vegan, and also helped make our kids comfortable. The beer selection was also really good!

A great vegan option in Corning! - Edit
Wish I could give the Cellar 5 Stars as they offer a bunch of delicious vegan choices. We had the vegan nut cheese plate and tried all 4 flavors (the truffle and vegan cheddar were our favorites). For entrees I had the beet risotto (OMG good) and my boyfriend had the maple smoked tofu with ginger rice. Then for dessert we had the orange tart with coconut ice cream. There were a bunch of other vegan or could be made vegan options on the menu and they also have a great wine selection. Highly recommended. Amazing food!

So many choices! - Edit
My husband and I ate here in March of 2015. I was awestruck by the number of vegan choices they have on their menu! Homemade vegan cheeses on a cheese board? Unheard of!
