Outstanding homemade lentil burger

Our local guide on a tour of Great Ocean Road suggested that we stop here for lunch because "there is something for everyone." I was super excited to see three choices of vegan burgers since usually I have one or zero choices. I chose the homemade lentil patty and there was also a marinated grilled tofu burger or a Beyond Beef burger. Some of the earlier reviews here can be disregarded since it is very clear now that the vegan burgers come with vegan cheese and vegan mayo. You do not need to give any special instructions unless you order the vegetarian items (cheese and avocado roll or hot lentil) which come with tasty/dairy cheddar and regular dairy mayo. The location is beautiful and there are plenty of beautiful cockatoos to entertain you (don't feed them).

Pros: Very large burgers that could be shared , Three different vegan burger options, Wonderful location in beautiful seaside Lorne

Cons: Prices a bit high - but this is a touristy spot

Disappointing burgers

We had the tofu and the beyond meat’ burgers, they both were dry and without any taste. So disappointed for the price we’ve paid! You don’t even get to have free fries with it, you need to pay $9 to have some.
Won’t come back

Pros: Few vegan options

Cons: Not tasty

Yeah better for us not to go to any anti-vegan cafes 😊

Quality vegan burgers

They offer a few vegan burgers one of them included the beyond meat burger which I order and was great. The bread was good quality and they offered vegan Mayo and cheese too! The chips are so golden and crunchy so good 🤤

Bland breakfast and strong coffee

I had possibly the worst breakfast burrito here of my life.
It had chunks of extremely spicy tofu with mushrooms. I added on a hash brown but they put it inside the wrap which I didn't ask for. I didn't finish the meal. Their coffee was also way too strong.
Not much else I can say, I was glad they offered a vegan breakfast option but it was just way too spicy and bland at the same time.
I would be keen to try their vegan burger selection but not sure if I would hurry back.

Pros: Vegan breakfast and burger options, Quick service

Cons: Over spiced food and strong coffee, Busy, Can queue a while to order

Yeah we just shouldn’t eat at places that deal in animal abuse.

Burgers!

I tried all 6 of the vegan burgers they offer. They’re all really good. Tofu burger was my favourite.

Pros: Vegan cheese

Cons: Expensive

Great lunch spot

We stopped in at The Bottle Of Milk for lunch on our way back to Melbourne. We both ordered the Tofu Burger and shared a basket of chips. The burgers were delicious - I enjoyed mine in it’s entirety, my husband loved his, but did feel that an alternative sauce to satay might work better. Chips were lovely - the relish we choose to have with it was amazing. There are a number of other vegan burgers on the lunch menu, all of which looked great. Would re-visit when in Lorne.

beyond juicy

They’ve obviously listened to vegan customers and added more options to the menu, with vegan cheese and mayo now available. We both got a Beyond burger and it was cooked just how I like it, still a little pink and juicy. There was a good amount of creamy mayo, tasty cheese, fresh tomato, lettuce, and onion, on a chewy sourdough bun. Super delicious! $19 is pretty expensive. I think for that price, they could throw in a side of chips. But prices are higher everywhere down the coast. I appreciated that the vegan burgers were cheaper than most of the meaty options.

Very accommodating but not many options.

The service was lovely and they were very accommodating but a little disappointed there weren’t any specifically vegan options for lunch (besides toast and avo, of course).

Delicious fresh burgers

Great place when you’re at the beach with non-veg friends/family, plenty of options for everyone. 5 vegetarian options that are easy made vegan, just specify what you want removed (cheese/mayo). Burgers aren’t dry at all even with mayo removed, delicious lentil patties plus there are tofu and mushroom burgers we didn’t try. The buns they use are delicious.

Just fair

The tofu in the burger was barely warm and just slightly grilled. The chilli sauce was awful. So much of it and not at all nice

Pros: Good chips

Cons: Tasteless, Boring, Terrible chilli sauce

ok for vegans

No vegan options, you have to specify what you want removed! I ordered the avo on toast and it was good - but had to remove the dairy from it

It has coffee but isn't vegan friendly

Not exactly a recommendation you hope for when on HappyCow. $5.50 for a large soy coffee and a very meat heavy menu.

Pros: It's cute, Friendly staff

Chips are not vegetarian

We went there based on the reviews. The waitress pointed out to us that the chips are made in animal fat. It was disappointing to hear, but I am glad she told me. The lentil lentil and hot lentil burgers without cheese, Mayo and yoghurt were good, just a pity about the chips.

Pros: not greasy/oily, fresh ingredients, flavourful burgers

Cons: chips made in animal fat - not vegetarian

Delicious!

We stopped here for breakfast on the way back from Apollo Bay. Sadly there were no breakfast options on the menu for vegans but there was a veggie breakfast which offered eggs and mushrooms on toast. I went with a tofu burger from the lunch menu which was very delicious. It was a huge slab of tofu smothered in a beautiful satay sauce and grated carrots and onions and lettuce. It was filling and very tasty. There were a number of veggie burgers on the lunch menu so there's plenty of choice there.

Pros: fab choice of burgers for veggies.

Cons: No vegan breakfast options.

Delicious burger - amazing chips!

The tofu burger, sans the mayo, was beautiful. It comes with a homemade chili sauce that really pulled it together. The mushroom burger, without the haloumi, was also delicious. But the chunky chips stole the show for me!

Pros: Price, Delicious food, Fast service

Cons: Paying a $1 for a little tub of sauce
