Serves meat, vegan options available. Offers two clearly labeled vegan choices on the menu, which is rare and so needs support so they continue or even expand their vegan offerings. As of Aug 2016, dishes are carrot and cumin falafel with beetroot and chili hummus and kale crisps, which can be served as a starter or with sweet potato fries as a main course. Also 5 A Day tagine of courgettes, carrots, parsnips, red pepper, dates and spiced orange with cardamon, chilli, cinnamon with couscous. There is also a vegetarian platter which can be veganized by removing the cheese - Gordal olives, chargrilled vegetables, beetroot and chili hummus, sundried tomato and olive tapenade with foccaccia bread and dressed salad. Open Mon-Thu 08:00-23:30, Fri-Sat 08:00-00:30, Sun 08:00-23:30.

Okay for a mixed group - Edit
I ordered menu item "portobello mushroom burger with vegan cheese and mayo and bbq jackfruit". I also had a choice of a vegan curry too. The burger that came out was two battered and deep fried patties filled with a mush of lentils.... No mushroom, no cheese, no mayo and no jackfruit. Confused I sent it back but they said the chef just forgot the cheese and mayo. I hate batter so I can't judge it too much, I tried to scrape out what was inside the batter... It was tasty enough. The whole incident didn't fill me with confidence though, it clearly wasn't what I ordered and no one apologised for this or offered me an explanation as to why

Mixed review - Edit
Went here for my birthday last month. The food was okay and there was a whole vegan menu to choose from which is rare. The food was nice though the pita bread starter was rather basic and small though the humus it came with was great. The main meal was okay though again smaller and the quality varied across the other vegan meals ordered by my family. Despite a relatively empty pub we were seated right next a rather unpleasant drunk party purely for the convenience of the staff for us to be near the kitchen. Wasn't terrible but looking back it wasn't the best experience either.

Don’t bother - Edit
Vegan options were uninspiring and bland. If you want good food in Lancaster there are plenty of much much better places.

One vegan option, carrot and cumin felafels - main course portion was five small felafels and four pieces of pitta bread for £11.

Vegan Cask Ale!!! - Edit
There's always 3, generally 4, vegan cask ales going. All taste great and I'm fussy.
Read moreThe food is good and there's always a vegan option, but it doesn't change often so not somewhere to go for food regularly.
Pros: The beer, The beer, The beer
Cons: Limited vegan choice for regulars
