Interesting and healthy food - Edit
This cafe changes its menu monthly which means the food always feels healthy and seasonal. I also like the fact it opens on Friday evenings for a different atmosphere, but it still does the same menu which is a bit of a shame - a totally different set menu for the evening would be nice

Sadly disappointing - Edit
I hate writing negative reviews but our visit to The Blonde Beet was disappointing at best. The spot itself is lovely, with a cute courtyard where dogs are welcome. The staff is nice and friendly, though quite obviously not very experienced (that’s okay, not a big problem at all). The big problem was the food, because it was just NOT good. It is the kind of food that gives vegan food a bad rep - bland, strangely put together, difficult to eat. If we weren’t vegan/animal lovers and had come here to try vegan food we would have probably run away thinking “we just can’t be vegan”. The coffee was also horrendous, some of the worst we’ve ever had and we’ve had coffee all over the world. The price was excessive given the quality of what we had. I will still give three stars to the cafe because of the location and the friendliness of the staff, plus of course the willingness to have a plant-based menu (the only place in Stamford, I believe), but improvement is absolutely needed in order to help, rather than hinder, the vegan cause.

Third time lucky! - Edit
First two times the Blonde Beet was full, so this time, third time was the charm. Amazing food. I had a Summer ratatouille. Amazing. The bed of white bean and cashew purée was such a wonderful addition. The polenta chips were so tasty. The service was friendly and fast, which was essential because I was so hungry, and I left feeling so much better. I’ll make sure I try every time I visit Stamford. I just wish I’d tried the cheesecake too.

The best meal I've ever had! The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was lovely and staff were wonderful. I've been a few times and will most definitely be going back. On this occasion I had the risotto and cheesecake which were amazing. I can't recommend Blonde Beet enough.

Love this place! - Edit
I have been enjoying going to the Blonde Beet cafe for several years now and it's a real jewel and unique community space that we are so fortunate to have in Stamford.
Read moreThe menu is always varied with exciting plant based options which change frequently, are really delicious, fairly priced and have sustainable roots - win, win!
The cakes are really hard to resist too.
The location is great, tucked off down a little alley at the end of the high street, with seating outside amongst plants in a little courtyard and the majority of indoor seating upstairs in a beautiful old-beamed room, often with local artists work on the walls.
The Friday Bistro nights are always special, with the atmosphere always welcoming, friendly and comfortable. I always find the Blonde Beet somewhere I'm happy to go on my own, as the staff never fail to welcome me with a smile or have a quick chat.
There are generally a range of interesting events, courses or groups happening each month too, often along the lines of cookery, art, crafts or sustainability.
Pros: Excellent food, Always friendly staff, Great vibe

Gorgeous food, staff and surroundings! - Edit
Tucked away in old stone building with beams, in the centre of Stamford. Licensed cafe that also opens on a Friday night. Locally sourced, seasonal, sustainable, organic, vegan ingredients. The food is really tasty and not just "the usual" stuff. The staff are friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is great. They even welcomed our little dog Maggie and made a real fuss of her. Thank you all!

Gem 💎 - Edit
Jo has created a space that is delightful. Every little detail is well thought through, sustainable and inline with her passion for local produce, plant based and sustainability with minimal waste. Jo”s food is amazing. Creative, healthy, packed with taste and affordable with a flare for local suppliers and a real community feel. This is a do not miss hidden gem although newly opened has been in the making for a long time. Can’t express how delighted to have a plant based bistro locally.
