Avoid - Edit
The vegan options were very poor. We struggled to get in anywhere else and I just wished we hadn’t bothered.
Read moreThe wait staff had no knowledge of what was or could be made vegan. When leaving one waitress said that they don’t want to be known to have vegan options but then added that she had vegetarian friends. Just a waste of an evening.
Pros: Central location
Cons: Lack of vegan options , Staff not knowledgable

Not great for vegans - Edit
I went to the cafe after seeing that they could possibly cater to vegans, but they really weren’t terribly helpful. I was after a decent brunch and the waitresses didn’t really know what they could offer. So, fair enough! I went to Sanders Yard instead.

Meanwhile, back in the 40’s - Edit
Popped in for a couple of halves of Peroni to celebrate the end of WW2. At least that’s what it felt like such is the war time theme here, hence the name. Nice enough place, friendly staff and a good range of tapas, some of which are vegan such as the grilled rustic bread topped with tomato, garlic and olive oil, patata bravas, bombay potatoes and garlic and rosemary roast potatoes, vegetable tempura and possibly the mushroom risotto. Also if you pop down to the toilets there’s some interesting blitz themed grafitti to keep you entertained. There might even still be a Happy Cow sticker too.
