Great mac n cheese - Edit
Fab bar, great atmosphere and amazing food. It was worth the trek all the way from SW london.
Read moreBasically any mac n cheese and I’ll be there and the blacksmith did not disappoint. So much so I took a doggy bag home.
Speaking of which there is a delightful rescue pup called Stella that trots around meeting and greeting which added to the evening.
Will definitely return

Had the Tofu & Kimchi Burger, which was tasty and generous. Prices are very competitive, so good value for money. Glad to have found this place and I will return.

Perfect for tasty unhealthy vegan - Edit
Came for my first meal just four hours before dinner reservations (due to jet lag) but had the perfect bar food. Only had kimchi balls (scrumptious) but menu looks good. I’d come back after a night of bar hopping. Beer selection is predominantly American which was disappointing but I was more interested in the food.

Must visit !!! 100% Vegan Pub - Edit
I loved this place and especially loved the vegan mozzarella sticks they had. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in the area. I had the fabulous Nashville Hot Seitan Burger and the Vegan Mozzarella Sticks. Having lived extensively near Nashville I got to laugh a little in that these aren't the same flavors you'd get there but that's really good news because this burger was even better.
Read moreThe real surprise for me was the vegan mozzarella sticks with the marinara sauce. These things were amazing and anytime I recommend this place I will be telling people they have to order these.
Other bits. The restaurant was super clean, staff were really nice, and the restaurant has an amazingly nice atmosphere for a pub. I really liked this place a lot and if I lived in the area I would definitely be a regular here.
For me this is a MUST visit for vegans traveling to London.

Disgustingly good - Edit
So good you will find yourself ordering at least 7 options on the menu and then struggling to finish! The best vegan food we had in London for our whole trip. The staff are also super nice and accommodating, making the whole experience thoroughly enjoyable.

So delicious! - Edit
Cute venue, good, chilled vibes, and lovely staff. Food was absolutely gorgeous! Great to be in a place where EVERYTHING Is vegan AND they serve (vegan) alcohol. Two of us had a feast - Tikka burgers, cheesy fries, leaves and kimchi balls. Gorgeous, and lovely sauces and dressings. Looking forward to coming again.

Salty and underwhelming - Edit
Having an entirely Vegan menu is of course admirable... However that's where the praise ends. Thier Nashville Burger was bland VERY salty and not cheap. Three stars rewarded on the off-chance the other options on the menu are better, however I'm unlikely to visit again to try the rest of the menu.

Oh Mother! It's eating out my soul - Edit
This is a typical down to earth pub with a warm vegan heart. Sticky floors and worn furniture are part of the charm. You may even be blessed with a warm welcome from the gorgeous pub dog if you’re lucky. The spinach pesto mac & cheese was an obvious choice as well as the famous deep fried mozzarella sticks. New on the menu was a tuna cheese melt toasted sandwich with polenta fries. I’m so glad I opted for this as it’s not often you get a chance to get vegan tuna. Popular place on match days too, ooh to ooh to be ooh to be a vegan!

Disappointing - Edit
Tasteless food. Wasn’t expecting a greasy fried sandwich. (Eggplant). Aloo burger was a starchy potato mash in a bun no taste. Sticky floor, grubby.

Flavourless food and awful atmosphere - Edit
Visited at 8pm on a Friday night. Looking at the menu I chose the Indian inspired potato burger, thinking that something like that would surely have some spices used in the patty. Not even a hint of flavour, it’s not hard to chuck a little bit of Garam masala and some chilli in there is it? Maybe some mango chutney in the burger, wasn’t expecting anything too fancy for a pub but not even the bare minimum. They also put some sort of spinach purée on both sides of the flavourless patty, and some boring lettuce in the bun. The chips were mediocre. There was also a chef with a very large beard and long hair with no hair net which was kind of gross and surely a hygiene violation...
Read moreOn top of all of this the atmosphere was terrible, granted this might not be the fault of the pub as you get idiots everywhere, but the punters standing in the way and blocking the access to the back of the pub with their bags was ridiculous - it wasn’t like there was no room to st either. Again not nessasrily the fault of the pub, but then again the people they had attracted seemed like [censored] heads.
Pros: Not bad price for london
Cons: Flavourless , [censored] ‘eds

Low quality 'chicken' burger - Edit
I've used Happy Cow both in the UK and when I'm travelling overseas for a while now but, this is my first review which I felt compelled to write after I visited here yesterday lunchtime (23/08/2018) shortly after it opened at 12pm. I was the only customer in there when I arrived (more people arrived later but, it was still relatively quiet, maybe due to the summer holiday period). I ordered the "Nashville hot 'chicken' burger" with French fries from the menu, along with a pint of Guinness. I took a seat outside and the meal was brought out shortly afterwards. I've added some photos so people can see but, it was not a good meal. Firstly presentation in general was not great, although this is a minor quibble - it's a burger and chips after all, not Michelin-starred fine dining! What most concerned me, though, was how the burger specifically looked. I'm not sure what all that white residue was on the 'chicken' patty and, if you look closely, you'll see what appears to be a thin thread coming out from below the patty. This didn't look particularly appetising but, I hadn't had breakfast and was hungry so, I pulled out the thread (giving the benefit of doubt that it was genuinely stray) and gave it a try. Needless to say that it was not a good experience. What made me stop eating was discovering another (blueish) thread, after I'd taken a few bites. You can see this in the middle of the second photo, and also in the third photo where I've left the thread on the side of the white plate. Based on this, I can only question the freshness of the patty, how it is wrapped, stored and cooked, and the ability and competency of the kitchen staff. I quickly finished my Guinness and left, however I'm regretting not making a complaint while I was there. I may call back and ask to speak to the owner/manager. I do like my vegan burgers and I think it's to be applauded that there's another vegan pub in London but, based on this visit, I won't be returning anytime soon. I was going to give a one star rating but the minimum seemed to be two for some reason. There are many other vegan burger joints, food stalls and restaurants in London, offering food at far better quality at similar or cheaper prices, that are worth visiting. As I've benefitted from other Happy Cow reviews over the last few years I thought it worth sharing my experience for other potential customers, particularly as I can see that this venue is highly rated. I hope that the owner/manager see this review and act upon this feedback and raise their game.

King of greasy junk food ;) - Edit
If you are passionate ethics vegan looking for vibrant space in typical London pub with greasy deep fried burgers from white flour buns with many beer options, if you don't care about such stupid things like healthy whole food plant-based diet, and you are junk food lover, undoubtedly you have to visit this place, you will love it ;)
