VERY small portion

I ordered the vegan chilli that came with rice and a small side of jalapeños. The chilli portion was about 3 or 4 tablespoons. Rice a little more. Luckily I’d ordered a side of chips (not vegan because of the way they’re cooked). £8 . I did complain and they brought me another bowl of chilli. Hubby had the katsu burger. £10 on its own, so had to order chips as extra. Good they have a separate veggie vegan menu but portions are expensive and small. When I asked why the chips weren’t cooked in a separate fryer I was told the kitchen was very small and fryers very expensive. The parent company, Ember Inns, would not invest in a separate fryer.

Pros: Separate mostly veg and some vegan menu, I did get extra when I pointed out small portion

Cons: Only one vegan starter, Very expensive for what you get , Small portions

Good options

Great range and variety especially for a pub. Great starters and deserts, recommend the curry and lentil pie. My only complaint would be that some components of the meals could be better done. The burgers are great but the buns feel frozen and not fresh (not cold but very chewy). I had the sweet potato and apricot tart and it was delicious but the veggies it came with were very poor, obviously microwaved and limp and the boiled potatoes were served plain without any oil, vegan butter, dressings or herbs. Overall a good place to eat out but definitely room for improvement.

Pros: Nice atmosphere , Options

Cons: Some things seem to be microwaved
