Five stars! - Edit
On our way from Ely, Cambs to Pembrokeshire and stumbled upon The Bear before we had a chance to check Happy Cow. What a great find!
Read moreMy partner had the Welsh Cawl which came with bread and vegan cheese This was delicious! I had the plant based burger, complete with skinny fries, salad and vegan coleslaw - also delicious.
Staff were excellent, very attentive and welcoming.
Highly recommended and would be five stars if Happy Cow allowed it!

Great vegan burger - Edit
Very pleasant setting, friendly and welcoming service
Read moreThere were four of for lunch. The vegan burgers and vegetarian ciabattas were great. Delicious chips.
The only reason I didn’t give it 5* is that HappyCow wouldn’t let me (because they also serve meat).

Bicycle? - Edit
What a charming place - a series of small rooms, each feeling sligthtly different to the others. There were three specials, one of which was cawl, which we both fancied, only to discover that it had just run out. So, I had the Vietnamese congee, which you could have mild, medium or hot. I went for medium, and should probably have opted for hot. My partner had the Thai red curry, which was good and hot. My dessert - vegan salted caramel biscuit cheesecake, washed down with a single espresso - was even better.
Read moreThe staff were all young and all charming, too. When we arrived, one asked me what I wanted to drink, and I asked if they had any pale ale. I was offered bicycle beer. Intrigued, I asked for one, but it came already poured, so I never did get to see the bottle. It'd be worth visitng Llandovery again, just to find out who brewed it.
Pros: Good set menu, Charming staff, Charming rooms

A must visit !! - Edit
This place has been on our list of places to eat for ages! Today we finally made it! It was totally worth the 2hr round trip, friendly staff, cosy setting and a wonderful menu with 75% of it being vegan! The other few dishes are vegetarian. No meat 💪 we were hungry and ordered starters, mains and sides! Huge portions and we really over ate but oh man it was so good!!! Will definitely return, will absolutely recommend it to friends and it's now become my favourite place to eat!! Special thanks to Katie, David and Hai for their very efficient waiting on skills, friendly smiley faces and helpful attitudes, you guys did a wonderful job of serving us, thankyou x

Amazing vegetarian / vegan pub restaurant with rooms - Edit
Stayed for lunch, dinner and overnight. Ate bruschetta and triple cooked chips at lunch with vegan cheesecake and great coffee whilst i read my book. Our room in the loft was gorgeous and we ate vietnamese congee and rice for dinner and had a delicious red and prosecco in the evening. Wine list shows vegan and sustainbly produced wines clearly marked. Recommended its very busy as its so good. You need to book

Excellent - Edit
We visited the Bear Inn one evening last week to have some food and I must say the interior is so relaxing and welcoming. The table service and staff was amazing. The menu choice is exciting and fresh. We had the green Thai curry and Singapore noodles, it was delicious. It was so nice to go out to eat something different to usual, it was definitely a good choice to try something new, we will 100% be going back to try out some more of the menu:) We had polite staff all evening and fast service on our food and drinks and Great seating area. Highly recommend.

The food was really good. The service wasn't great, but then they've only been open a few weeks so I'm sure these teething issues will be sorted out. Will definitely return to try some other dishes soon 🙂

Friendliest pub inn Llandovery - Edit
I stubbled across the Bear Inn whilst walking the Cambrian Way through Wales. And as a vegan hiking through Wales. This was like falling into heaven. A full vegan menu. Vegan beers. And all vegan wine. I literally had the best night of my whole holiday in this place. The food was amazing. Real nutritional tasty food. Reasonable prices. Great wine. And a relaxed welcoming atmosphere. You couldn’t ask for anything more. 10/10
